Sana'a Commemorates Departure of US Marines

Sana'a Commemorates Departure of US Marines

News - Yemen: A popular event was organized in Sana'a, in front of the US Embassy, to commemorate February 11, the day the US Marines in confused move ran away from Sana'a.

The Undersecretary of the Capital Municipality, Khaled Al-Madany, confirmed that the US Marines did not come to serve the people of Yemen, but rather came to do what they did in Iraq and Afghanistan in terms of killing, assassination and spread corruption.

He pointed out that the September 21 revolution thwarted the project to occupy Yemen and ended the foreign tutelage.

A statement issued by the mass stressed the importance of remembering this day and the bad attitudes and situations that were witnessed by the People of Yemen before the September 21 revolution in all fields.

They denounced in the strongest terms the Saudi regime's attack and arrest of the Yemen's resident Marwa Al-Sabri, and sentencing her to a full year in prison just for saying a word of truth, stressing that the people of Yemen will not stand idly by in front of these crimes, demanding her release without condition.

The Saudi regime had earlier arrested Yemen's woman because she responded with the phrase, "Saudi Arabia destroyed our country," summarizing what has happened over eight years of killing and siege.

They called for the speedy release of Marwa Al-Sabri and called on international organizations to condemn the crime and put pressure on the Saudi regime with the aim of releasing her and stopping arbitrary arrests.

During the period that followed 2001, the US presence in Yemen began to increase, under the name of military cooperation, and expanded to include the presence of special forces on the ground.

After the revolution on February 11, 2011, the American influence in Yemen increased, especially the military presence. Former US ambassador, Gerald Feierstein, announced in mid-September 2012, the arrival of what he described as a small group of US Marines to Sana'a based on discussions with the Yemeni government, at that time Abd Rabbo Hadi was the president of Yemen.

At that time, the Yemeni newspaper, Al-Sharea, revealed that about 1,500 Americans were sent to the Al-Anad military base, and that 200 others were sent to Al-Dailami air base in Sana'a. The two bases later housed 5,800 US military personnel.

Other newspapers undertook to expose the secrets of the embassy and its practices in Yemen, which varied between material support for press organizations and institutions promoting American policy, holding mixed parties on a weekly basis, luring security and political leaders, and other actions that contradict religious values, traditions and society.

The US forces were able to penetrate the Yemeni National Security Agency and the Ministries of Defense and Interior during the period in which officials in those agencies worked with the US forces in the units approving the implementation of air strikes by Predator aircraft. This is what eventually led to the arrival of Al-Qaeda in Sana’a with American sponsorship and Yemeni complicity from the Hadi regime. The result was disastrous in the bombings of the Ministry of Defense, Central Security and the Police College.

With the outbreak of the revolution on September 21, 2014, the US forces sensed the danger threatening them from the Yemenis who took the initiative to join the popular committees and some battalions from the national army to overthrow the regime that left the Yemeni airspace and land open and permissible for the US enemy, which seeks to pave the way for the Zionist enemy to reach the open sea, Arabian Sea.

After the revolutionaries took control of Sana'a, the US withdrew its forces from the capital, al-Anad base, and all Yemeni regions, and suffered a catastrophic failure that led it to disgracefully exit from all Yemeni lands. Therefore, it withdrew its embassy, organizations, agents, and intelligence men, fearing the Yemeni man who ignited the revolution of the oppressed in the face of global arrogance.

The revolution was enough to annihilate all Western dreams and impede the projects that work on for decades continued. It prompted the US to react in the form of overt aggression in May 2015, after years of covert aggression.
