Citing American officials, Business Insider noted that the attacks from Yemen are unlikely to end soon, resulting in a costly and unsustainable confrontation for the US. The site concluded that the United States must bear the increasing financial costs of the battle at sea and the wear and tear on its warships.
Officials added that the USS Eisenhower and other destroyers have fired 500 shells and their aircraft have flown tens of thousands of hours, highlighting that the cost of an SM-2 interceptor missile is $2.1 million. Experts told the site that the foreseeable future will be unstable, with Yemeni Armed Forces continuing to exert some control over the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.
They claimed there is no easy military solution to the challenges posed by Yemen, and a long-term political and diplomatic process will be required.
Similarly, Axios cited a US intelligence report indicating that the United States and its allies have failed to stop Yemeni Armed Forces' attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, despite Washington spending a billion dollars to counter their missiles and drones.
The site quoted an American researcher stating that despite US and British strikes against Yemen, their weapon stockpiles do not appear to be depleting. The Yemeni Armed Forces have imposed a blockade on Zionist navigation in response to the aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Yemenis have openly declared their support for Palestine's struggle against Zionist occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7, following the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm by Palestinian resistance movements.
The Yemeni Armed Forces assert that their operations will continue until the aggression stops and the blockade on Gaza is lifted. Meanwhile, the US and UK insist on supporting the enemy entity, attempting to break the Yemeni blockade by force and launching attacks on Yemen, prompting Yemen to retaliate against both nations.
