Last week, EU ambassadors arrived in Aden, which is under Saudi-Emarti occupation, to discuss strategies with local forces regarding the Red Sea crisis and escalating actions against Yemen’s Armed Forces in Sana’a. This move underscores Washington’s aim to leverage Yemen’s situation to push deals and directives that serve Israeli interests and achieve its broader regional goals.
US-EU Agenda Against Yemen
Aden's governor, Tareq Salam, emphasized that the influx of EU ambassadors into Aden reflects an American-European pushback against Yemen’s support for Gaza. Salam linked their visit to broader US-Israeli plans targeting Yemen, noting the simultaneous deployment of US and foreign troops in occupied territories and military maneuvers aimed at reigniting conflict through Saudi and Emirati-backed forces.
Salam also pointed out that Sana’a's notable economic progress, including the recent resumption of public employee salaries, has intensified Western hostility. In contrast, the occupied territories face economic collapse, currency devaluation, and months of unpaid wages. He stressed that no amount of foreign intervention would deter Yemen from its moral and humanitarian support for Gaza, despite the crimes committed there by Israel.
Escalation Under the Pretense of Peace
Member of the Supreme Political Council of the Southern Revolutionary Movement, Mohammed Al-Numani, said the timing of the ambassadors' visit suggests Western pressure on Yemen's proxy government to resolve internal disputes. This is part of a broader strategy to convene an illegitimate parliamentary session under Rashad Al-Alimi's leadership. The goal? To hand over Yemen’s oil fields in Hadramout and Shabwa back to the US-based Hunt Oil Company and secure deals that align with Israeli interests.
Al-Numani added that the West seeks to pressure Sana’a into halting its Gaza support under the guise of a comprehensive political settlement for Yemen. However, the real objective, he claimed, is to protect Israel, which the US and Europe have failed to safeguard in the Red Sea.
Military Preparations for a Renewed Conflict
Al-Numani warned that Western diplomatic efforts in Aden mask preparations for an upcoming military escalation. Training camps for proxy forces have reportedly been established along Yemen's western coast, as well as in Hadramout and Shabwa, with thousands of American soldiers present. These moves, he argued, are designed to shift the balance of power in favor of foreign interests, ensuring US and Israeli dominance in Yemen and its vital waterways, including the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.
The arrival of EU ambassadors in Aden, the third such visit since the onset of Al-Aqsa Flood operations, is a part of these maneuvers. Al-Numani concluded that the ongoing foreign interventions, alongside deteriorating conditions in the occupied regions, have fueled public outrage, signaling a looming crisis in the face of escalating tensions.
