News - Yemen: The General People's Congress (GPC), in a consultative meeting held on Thursday under the leadership of Sadiq bin Amin Abu Ras, expressed its rejection of the US decision to designate Ansarullah as a "terrorist organization."

The meeting voiced its complete rejection of the announcement by the new US administration to re-designate Ansarullah as a terrorist organization. It considered this announcement, at a time when it highlights Washington’s double standards, to have a negative impact on efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.

The meeting reiterated the GPC's praise for Yemen’s honorable stance in supporting its Palestinian brothers and Gaza against the Zionist aggression. It also commended the measures taken by the Yemeni Armed Forces in this regard. Additionally, the meeting congratulated the release of the crew of the Galaxy Leader ship, as a testament to Yemen’s sincerity in placing the ship and its crew under the custody of the brothers in the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in Gaza, following consultations with them.

The meeting once again condemned the discordant voices calling for secession, emphasizing that these calls, which reflect external agendas and plans, will fail. The Yemeni people will continue to defend their unity, sovereignty, and independence.

As part of its war on the Yemeni people, Washington announced late Wednesday that it is designating the Yemeni government in Sana'a on its so-called "terrorism" list, threatening to mobilize its regional proxies against Yemen in an attempt to pressure the Yemeni people to abandon their support for Gaza.
