The Teachers and Employees Union in Taiz governorate has called for a march tomorrow, Sunday, in the city of Taiz, to "restor rights. " The Union is demanding the pro-Saudi aggression government to reconsider wages, deliver overdue salaries and bonuses, as well as provide health insurance, compelling the government to pay all the entitlement to the employees.
The call for a march demands for better conditions for public sector employees, with no response from the
government which controlled by the coalition.
It is worth noting that there is a deeply belief among citizens in southern and eastern Yemen that the pro- Saudi "government" has executed policies harmful to the economy and impacted citizens' lives, on as it continues to follow the orders of the countries involved in the aggression aganist Yemen. One of the most damagin of these policies was the decision to print more than five trillion Yemeni Riyals (YR) without cover, which led to the devaluation of the local currency by over 600% since the second half of 2018. The pro- Saudi "government" has failed to take any steps to reduce the collapse of the local currency against the dollar, which today reached 2,187 YR/dollar.
Citizens in Aden and other areas of Yemen under the US- Saudi control believe that the "government" is the cause of the economic collapse and cannot be the solution.
Yemeni provinces under Saudi-Emirati occupation are grappling with severe economic turmoil due to the Saudi-backed government's manipulation of the economy and the exploitation of the nation’s resources by Saudi-Emirati occupation forces. The proliferation of counterfeit currency has fueled rampant inflation and soaring prices.
The economic collapse has severely impacted living conditions in the occupied southern provinces, to the extent that the Saudi-backed government is unable to fulfill its obligation to pay teachers' salaries. This dire situation highlights the urgent need for comprehensive economic reforms and immediate interventions to address the currency crisis and alleviate its impact on the population.
In contrast, despite the currency’s freefall in the occupied regions, Sana’a and the provinces governed by the Supreme Political Council maintain currency stability. The banking sector remains resilient, with the US dollar holding steady below the 530-riyal mark. This stability, along with Sana’a’s economic resilience, underscores the careful deliberation behind introducing the 100-riyal coin, which is regulated by the central bank to safeguard the currency’s integrity.
