Leader: U.S. Marines' Withdrawal from Sana’a Marked a Historic Victory for Yemen

News - Yemen: The leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, described the withdrawal of U.S. Marines from the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, ten years ago as a "great victory" and a "historic day" for the Yemeni people.

In his speech on Tuesday, marking the anniversary of the U.S. Marines' departure from Sana’a, he called the withdrawal a "resounding failure" of the American project in Yemen and an acknowledgment of the failure of U.S. dominance over the country.

He began his speech by expressing gratitude to God for the great victory achieved by the Yemeni people, considering the withdrawal a significant blessing and a major achievement. He emphasized that this day represents a crucial turning point in Yemen's history and reaffirms the strength of the Yemeni people's will in resisting "American arrogance."

The Leader stated that the U.S. Marines’ withdrawal from Sana’a is undeniable proof of the failure of Washington’s plans for total control over Yemen. He affirmed that this withdrawal dealt a severe blow to U.S. hegemony and made it clear that the Yemeni people will no longer accept foreign guardianship or intervention.

Sayyed Abdulmalik further explained that the Marines' departure was a major and meaningful outcome of the September 21 Revolution, stressing the importance of breaking free from American dominance to preserve the dignity of the Yemeni people. He asserted that no nation can be truly free while under American control.

The Leader emphasized that breaking free from U.S. influence safeguards Yemen’s freedom, independence, and Islamic pride. He argued that a Muslim nation cannot maintain its dignity while subject to American intervention and efforts to erase its identity.

Criticizing the American presence in Sana’a, he stated that the Yemeni people are among the most committed to religious and moral values. He accused the United States of promoting moral corruption and deviant behaviors, claiming that spreading such values is a priority for the U.S. in any country it seeks to control.

He reiterated that the withdrawal of U.S. Marines from Sana’a signifies the failure of Washington’s agenda in Yemen, explaining that their presence meant total control over the country's top officials. He described the U.S. plan as one designed to push Yemen into collapse across all sectors, exploiting political crises to tighten its grip.

Discussing U.S. influence, the Leader claimed that Washington deliberately weakened Yemen’s military capabilities to facilitate its control and aimed to expand its military presence by establishing bases across the country.

He warned that had the U.S. military presence continued, it would have resulted in the proliferation of American bases in Yemen’s strategic locations.

Furthermore, he argued that the U.S. sought to drive Yemen toward economic collapse despite the country's abundant resources, while also infiltrating its education, healthcare, and judicial systems.

Referring to U.S. President Donald Trump, Sayyed Abdulmalik noted that Trump openly expressed America's true intentions, accusing the U.S. of exploiting and plundering nations' wealth. He asserted that submission to Washington only strengthens its grip on its targets.
