Thousands in Yemen Perform Funeral Prayer for Martyrs Sayyed Nasrallah, Sayyed Safieddine

News - Yemen: Thousands of Yemenis performed the funeral prayer for the martyrs of Islam and humanity, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashim Safieddine , on Sunday morning at Al-Sha'ab Mosque and the surrounding squares in Sanaa's Al-Sabeen Square.

The memorial event, held at Al-Sha'ab Mosque, was attended by a large official and public turnout, where the funeral prayer was performed for the two martyrs of Islam and humanity. Participants carried pictures of the two martyrs, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashim Safieddine.

Attendees included members of the Supreme Political Council, the President and members of the government, members of the Shura and Parliament, scholars from various sects, political leaders from different factions, as well as military and security commanders, along with large crowds of people.

The event began with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs, then a video clip showcasing moments from the life and positions of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, particularly his support for the Yemeni people and his condemnation of the US-Saudi aggression, alongside his solidarity with Yemen when the world turned its back.

In his speech, Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, member of the Supreme Political Council, extended condolences to the entire Islamic Ummah for the loss of Sayyed Nasrallah and Safieddine , emphasizing that their loss is a great tragedy.

He reaffirmed that Yemen would never forget the stance of Sayyed Nasrallah, who stood by Yemen in the face of the US-Saudi aggression, and emphasized that Nasrallah would never die. He stated that the people of the Islamic world will always remember him and his positions.

Bin Habtoor reiterated Yemen's steadfast support for the resistance axis, stressing that this axis is the only one that will stand up to the forces of evil and the Zionist axis.

Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi also expressed that Yemen holds deep love and respect for the martyr leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who stood by Yemen during the Saudi-Emirati-American aggression.

In his speech, Sheikh Fuad Naji, member of the Yemeni Scholars Union, praised Sayyed Nasrallah, calling him an exceptional scholar, fighter, and leader who supported the oppressed, liberated Lebanon, and brought victory to Yemen. He affirmed that Nasrallah was the man of the era and the initiator of a new era of victories.

Naji added that under Nasrallah’s leadership, the flag of resistance would never fall, and the enemy would realize their mistake in thinking that killing the leaders would destroy Hezbollah. He also stated that the fitting conclusion for the two martyrs would be this ceremony after decades of jihad and struggle on the path to Al-Quds.

Speeches highlighted the martyrs’ dedication to jihad and addressed their significant contributions to the Palestinian cause, as well as their support for the Yemeni people and opposition to the US-Saudi aggression. The attendees also praised Sayyed Nasrallah and Hezbollah’s role in defeating the Zionist enemy and expressed their commitment to continue their path of resistance.

The event concluded with a funeral prayer for the souls of the two martyrs, Sayyed Nasrallah and Sayyed Safieddine , and a prayer for them.

Sayyed Nasrallah was assassinated in Israel’s bombardment of southern Beirut on September 27, 2024. Using 85 tons of explosives, Israeli jets leveled six residential buildings in Dahiyeh, following a week-long bombing campaign that hit many areas from southern Lebanon to Beirut.

Sayyed Safieddine was assassinated in an Israeli attack in October 2024.

Hezbollah postponed funeral ceremonies for both leaders due to fears of Israeli attacks on the ceremony.

Now, more than five months after the attack, Beirut’s airport and streets are seeing a steady stream of people, many waving Hezbollah flags and carrying images of Nasrallah as they gather to honor him.

On Tuesday, a Hezbollah official said delegations from 79 countries will attend the commemoration ceremony for Nasrallah and Executive Safieddine, scheduled for February 23.
