Yemen: On the 9th of Ramadan, six years ago, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a major offensive operation, the largest since the beginning of the US-Saudi aggression against Yemen. Seven drones successfully penetrated deep into Saudi territory, targeting oil facilities belonging to Aramco in the Dawadmi and Afif provinces near the capital, Riyadh.

The targeted facility was a crucial transfer station linking the Ras Tanura port in the east of the Kingdom to the Yanbu port in the west, transporting 3 million barrels of oil daily through massive pipelines. This operation marked the first large-scale attack targeting the Saudi depth and had a significant global impact.  

The operation silenced all those who attempted to downplay the seriousness and precision of Yemeni attacks and their profound impact on Saudi energy supplies, which fuel the war on Yemen.  

Saudi officials expressed shock at the scale of the fires caused by the operation, which also had regional and international repercussions. It proved that Yemen has changed the philosophy of war, and anyone standing against Yemen will face a crushing defeat.  

The 9th of Ramadan operation was a strategic blow that affected the Saudi stock market, one of the most sensitive economic centres. The reaction was swift, with stock indices plummeting and global oil prices surging by 1.5%.  

The 9th of Ramadan operation revealed to the world the true vulnerabilities of those enslaved by money and energy. It showed free nations targeted by American capitalism that cost-effective, locally-produced weapons with available capabilities can strike painful, effective, and impactful targets, disrupting calculations based on illegitimate interests.  

The operation confirmed Yemen as a regional power and marked the first large-scale military operation using domestically-produced drones outside Yemeni territory. Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced the targeting of oil export pumps in Dawadmi and Afif near Riyadh. This operation overturned all balances and reshaped calculations.  

The operation came as a surprise to Yemenis and a disaster for the Saudi and Emirati enemies and their American and Zionist masters. It was executed after precise monitoring and cooperation with honourable individuals in those regions, leading to a complete halt in oil pumping through the pipeline and directly impacting the enemy’s economy.  

The 9th of Ramadan operation caused a media uproar and had regional and international impacts due to its meticulous planning and execution with minimal resources. It created significant anxiety among the forces of aggression, becoming a disturbing nightmare for them. The Saudi enemy never expected the Yemeni Armed Forces to possess such a strategic yet "simple" weapon, which later became a nightmare for the Saudi Kingdom, creating a balance of deterrence and forcing the enemy to retreat and reconsider its calculations in its brutal war against Yemen. This eventually led to the enemy sending a delegation headed by "Al Jaber" to Sana’a.  

At a time when we witness the fulfilment of the Leader’s promise, as stated in his 2017 speech, threatening the Saudi and Emirati enemies in their aggression against our country: "Our missiles have reached Riyadh and will reach beyond Riyadh," and in another speech, the Leader warned the Israeli entity against any foolish actions against our people, stating, "Our people will not hesitate to declare jihad in the path of Allah against this enemy and deliver the harshest possible strikes targeting the most sensitive objectives of the Israeli enemy entity."  

Six years after the 9th of Ramadan operation, which marked the beginning of major operations and embodied the Leader’s promise, our missiles and drones have reached beyond Riyadh—indeed, beyond "Jaffa"—in support of our brothers in Palestine and in solidarity with them during the Al-Aqsa Flood operation. The Yemeni Armed Forces have forced the Zionist enemy to resort to a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.  

With these developments, the Yemeni Armed Forces now control international maritime routes and threaten the Zionist enemy if it reneges on any part of the agreement.  

Yemen’s operations started from the 9th of Ramadan operation in defence of the Yemeni people to participating in the Al-Aqsa Flood by preventing and targeting Israeli ships in the Red Sea, extending to the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Mediterranean, and targeting the Israeli entity deep within its territory and in occupied lands (Umm al-Rashrash). This blessed operation was the foundation upon which Yemeni resolve was built to execute the harshest operations against forces of tyranny, aggression, and arrogance.
