News- World: The spokesman for the large-scale Security Belt-2025 joint naval exercise says participating units of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, and China have successfully conducted day and night shooting operations against aerial targets during the drill in the northern part of the Indian Ocean.

“Night and day shooting operations against aerial targets require coordination and detailed instructions. The scenario of the exercise has been developed and is being played out on the basis of a common tactical discourse between Iranian naval forces, consisting the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy, and their Chinese and Russian counterparts,” Rear Admiral Mostafa Tajeddini said on Tuesday.

He added that the ongoing Security Belt-2025 naval military drill differs from its previous editions in terms of the number of participating units and countries, and the extensive participation of airborne units, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft in the depth of the exercise zone.

Earlier, Tajeddini said the main goal of Security Belt-2025 drills is to enhance maritime security in the northern tip of the Indian Ocean, and increase tripartite maritime interactions among Iran, Russia and China in order to elevate the level of cooperation, skills training, and experience sharing.

He noted that the joint maritime drills will feature various scenarios like a mock rescue operation, VBSS (visit, board, search, and seizure), a fire drill, a heliborne operation and many other exercises.

Tajeddini noted that a naval parade will be staged following the mock rescue operation.

The high-ranking Iranian naval commander said that a debriefing session and a detailed analysis of the joint naval exercise will be held at the conclusion of the drills.

On Tuesday, the naval units of Iran, China, and Russia successfullyexecuted the "Photo Ex" drill and carried out tactical formation and alignment

The Security Belt-2025 is the fifth China-Iran-Russia joint naval exercise since 2019.
