Yemen Condemns US-British Aggression as Airstrikes Target Civilians in Sana’a and Saadah

Yemen Condemns US-British Aggression as Airstrikes Target Civilians in Sana’a and Saadah

News - Yemen: The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has strongly condemned the recent American-British airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, and Saada province, which targeted residential neighborhoods and resulted in the deaths and injuries of over 18 civilians, including women and children. The attacks also caused significant damage to residential buildings, according to an initial toll.

In a statement, the ministry criticized the international community’s silence, which it said has emboldened the Zionist entity, backed by the United States and Britain, to continue violating international law and committing crimes against the peoples of the region. The ministry described the aggression as blatant support for the Zionist entity’s ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people and other nations in the region, particularly in Syria and Lebanon.

The statement emphasized that such actions will not deter the Yemeni people from standing in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, which it described as a matter of faith, morality, and humanity. It called on the international community, including the United Nations Security Council, global nations, and human rights organizations, to condemn the aggression and take decisive steps to halt the American-British-Zionist actions in the region.

The ministry also reaffirmed Yemen’s right, under divine and human laws, to defend its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity by all available means. It praised the efforts of Yemen’s revolutionary and political leadership, as well as its armed forces, in supporting the Palestinian people and breaking the siege on Gaza by delivering humanitarian aid.

Furthermore, the ministry vowed to document all crimes and violations committed against Yemen and its people, ensuring that those responsible, including the Zionist entity and its supporters, are held accountable in national and international courts.

Coalition of Political Parties Condemns Aggression

In a separate statement, a coalition of anti-aggression political parties and forces also condemned the American airstrikes, which resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children. The coalition described the bombardment as a violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and international law, reflecting America’s support for the Zionist entity.

The coalition stressed that targeting civilians and residential areas constitutes a war crime that does not expire with time. It reiterated Yemen’s legitimate right to defend itself and resist American aggression.

Yemeni Parliament and Scholars League Denounce Attacks

The Yemeni Parliament and the League of Yemeni Scholars joined in condemning the American aggression, particularly its targeting of residential neighborhoods in Sana’a. The League of Yemeni Scholars emphasized the necessity of confronting the aggression, describing resistance as a religious duty and sacred obligation.

The Parliament, in a press statement, labeled the attacks as full-fledged war crimes and accused the United States and Britain of supporting Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and the broader region. It asserted that the aggression is a desperate attempt to undermine Yemen’s official and popular support for the Palestinian resistance.

The Parliament also stressed Yemen’s right, alongside its armed forces, to respond decisively to the aggression, arrogance, and terrorism of the United States and Britain.

International Call for Action

Yemeni authorities have repeatedly called on the international community to take action against the ongoing aggression, which they say threatens regional and global stability. The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, along with other Yemeni entities, has urged the UN Security Council and global human rights organizations to hold the perpetrators accountable and end the cycle of violence and injustice in the region.

As the conflict escalates, Yemen remains steadfast in its support for the Palestinian cause, vowing to continue its resistance against aggression and its efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. The international community’s response, or lack thereof, will likely play a critical role in shaping the future of the region.

Earlier on Saturday, Trump had announced on X that he had ordered the United States military to launch “decisive and powerful military action” against, what he described as, Yemen’s Ansarullah, although the Saturday American attacks just targeted Yemeni civilians.

"We will use overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective,” he had added.

The American enemy launched an aggression with nearly 30 airstrikes on the capital, Sana'a, Saadah, Dhamar, Hajjah, and Al-Bayda.

In an initial toll, 10 children and a woman were martyred, and more than 10 others, including women and children, were injured in the aggression on two houses in the Qahza area of Saada province.

In Sana'a, at least 9 martyrs and 9 other civilians, most of them children and women, were injured in an initial toll.
