News - Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces announced they have carried out a "specialized joint military operation" targeting the US Navy's USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and its accompanying strike group in the northern Red Sea.

According to a statement read by the spokesman general Yahya Saree, the attack involved multiple cruise missiles and drones, successfully striking the carrier. The forces described the engagement as lasting several hours and claimed to have partially repelled retaliatory strikes by US forces.  

The operation was framed as a direct response to recent US aggression, after American forces conducted over 36 airstrikes across Yemen, including in the capital Sana’a and Saadah province. They reported dozens casualties, though exact numbers remain unconfirmed.  

Despite the US bombardment, the armed forces vowed to continue military operations, stating: "We will keep targeting all American warships and sources of threat in our declared operations zone."

"No amount of airstrikes will stop us from supporting Palestine—our religious and moral duty. Our strikes into occupied Palestine will only end when the aggression on Gaza stops and the siege is lifted."

This came as the Yemeni Armed Forces announced weeks ago to resume targeting Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea after Israel cut off the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza earlier this month and broke the ceasefire deal brokered by Trump.

The Yemeni people reaffirm their steadfastness and unwavering support for Gaza, no matter the challenges or sacrifices, emphasizing their full readiness to confront American escalation with further escalation.
