News- Yemen: Yemen's President Mahdi Muhammad Al-Mashat has issued strict directives mandating a nationwide boycott of American goods.

The announcement came during his visit to the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment, where he reaffirmed that the decision aligns with a growing public demand to boycott American and Israeli products.

President Mashat emphasized that the boycott is rooted in religious obligation, citing the Holy Qur’an as the foundation for the directive. He instructed the Ministry to implement mandatory measures ensuring the removal of American products from all markets.

A three-month grace period will begin effective immediately (Wednesday), after which the presence of any American product in commercial outlets will be strictly prohibited.

He also called on the Yemeni public to boycott businesses that fail to comply with the ban on American and Zionist goods, warning of decisive actions against violators.

"Initially, this will depend on public awareness and personal conviction," he stated, "but eventually, it will be enforced with full intensity."

President Mashat further directed the Government to formalize a decision banning the entry of American products and to take all necessary legal and administrative measures against violators.

Quoting the Qur’an, he said: "Allah Almighty said, ‘Do not say ra‘ina (be considerate of us), but say unzurna (look upon us)’"—interpreting it as a divine instruction to reject even linguistic associations with the Jews. He cited additional verses to support the legitimacy of boycotting those who are hostile to Muslims.

Earlier, President Mashat reassured the Yemeni public that measures are in place to counter "absurd and illegal American sanctions." He asserted that Yemen will respond firmly to US policies and declared that "these sanctions will be defeated."

He stated that the Humanitarian Operations Center will soon release a list of American oil and arms companies that will be subject to Yemeni sanctions.
