News - Yemen: Foreign media outlets have highlighted the success of the Yemeni Armed Forces in shooting down seven American MQ-9 Reaper drones over the past few days, with an estimated value exceeding $200 million. This represents the largest material loss to date in Washington’s aggression against Yemen, confirming Sana'a’s ability to damage the reputation of the American MQ-9 drones.

The Nigerian Daily Post confirmed that defense officials stated the drones were downed between March 31 and April 22. Recently, Yemeni Armed Forces have intensified their efforts to target American drones operating in Yemeni airspace. Three drones were destroyed just last week alone, signaling an improvement in Sana'a’s capability to strike American aircraft at high altitudes.

Each of the downed drones, costing approximately $30 million, was reportedly conducting surveillance or attack missions when they crashed into either the water or the ground.

A defense official stated that the drone strikes occurred on March 31, and on April 3, 9, 13, 18, 19, and 22. Meanwhile, reports indicate that dozens of civilians have been killed in Yemen since March 15, following orders from US President Donald Trump for daily strikes against them.

Additionally, the American website Axios reported that the Yemeni Armed Forces’ military arsenal has become increasingly sophisticated, having shot down several MQ-9 drones since early March.

Washington’s drones continue to fall one after another in Yemen's provinces. The Yemeni Air Defenses recently brought down their 22nd advanced MQ-9 Reaper off the coast of Hajjah Province.

The downing of 22 drones in just a year and a half stands as a powerful testament to the growing capabilities of the Yemeni Armed Forces and to an escalating confrontation fueled by a determined national will.
