Washington Withdraws, Yemen Imposes Its Equation
A report published by the American magazine Foreign Affairs this week revealed the dimensions of the US withdrawal from the air campaign against Yemen, confirming that Washington's airstrikes on Sana'a were extremely costly and dangerous, to the point of endangering American soldiers' lives. This pushed US decision-makers to exit the air campaign without achieving its objectives.
The magazine adds that the US agreement with Yemen does not include stopping attacks against Israel or its ships, which implicitly acknowledges Yemen's right to continue its deterrent operations and achieve its declared goals of supporting Gaza and imposing a blockade on the occupation.
Victory in the Red Sea
On the ground, the battle in the Red Sea has revealed a new face of Yemen's forces, which, according to informed military sources, managed to target five US aircraft carriers and military ships in the region, some of which suffered direct damage. Western intelligence circles described this as a qualitative leap in Yemen's ability to wage effective naval warfare.
These attacks were neither symbolic nor for show — they forced US forces to reposition their fleets, halt airstrikes against Yemen, and ultimately brought Washington to the negotiating table with Ansarullah. This scene reflects the victory of Yemeni military will despite the prolonged blockade and the massive disparity in capabilities.
Israel Exposed
On the other hand, the Israeli occupation is experiencing a growing state of strategic and aerial paralysis. Over 27 international airlines have withdrawn from Lod Airport, while the air blockade imposed by Yemen's forces has expanded to cover commercial airspace. Hebrew estimates suggest the Yemeni aerial threat will persist throughout the summer, delivering a severe blow to tourism in the occupied territories.
Hebrew media highlighted the deep concern over this shift. Channel 24 acknowledged that "Israel is facing a real air blockade," while Channel 12 admitted that "Tel Aviv has been left alone" after the US-Yemen agreement, without Washington's protection.
With Yemeni forces continuing to threaten Israeli-related air and maritime navigation, and with dwindling US cover, Netanyahu's government faces increasing security isolation, raising serious questions about the Israeli occupation's ability to endure long without direct external support.
Splitting the Alliance
Strategically, Yemen's success in separating the American and "Israeli" fronts represents a painful intelligence and military blow to the American project in the region. Washington has not only failed to protect its ally but is now out of the deterrence equation, leaving "Israel" exposed to successive strikes from southern Arabia and the Red Sea to the heart of Palestine.
This separation is not a mere tactical detail but reflects a genuine shift in the regional deterrence equation, as Sana'a moves as an independent force within a cohesive axis, imposing its terms from a position of strength and holding the initiative.
Yemen as a Regional Military Power
After years of siege and war on Yemen, it has become not just a symbol of steadfastness but an emerging military power that has redrawn the rules of engagement in the region. It has forced the US to withdraw, compelled the Israeli entity to retreat, and imposed an actual blockade that none of the 57 Arab and Islamic countries have succeeded in achieving.
With this achievement, Yemen is not only redefining its role but also rewriting the equations of conflict in the region — from the heart of the Red Sea to the skies over occupied Jaffa.
