Economic Crisis Deepens in Israel Amid Yemeni Blockade

Economic Crisis Deepens in Israel Amid Yemeni Blockade

News - Middle East: The Zionist entity’s economy has suffered severe collapses across several sectors over the past 24 hours due to the impact of the Yemeni air and naval blockade, along with the cumulative effects of previous blows sustained throughout the aggression and siege on Gaza.

The Hebrew economic newspaper Calcalist published a report revealing a sharp rise in food and essential goods prices.

It stated that soft drink prices rose by 6.4 percent, water, energy drinks by 5 percent, and dairy products by 3.5 percent.

These increases coincided with a continued rise in high-risk mortgage rates, reaching 31 percent, negatively affecting the investment, local economic development sectors.

Meanwhile, amid rising prices, the occupiers are experiencing income decline and job losses. The Calcalist report confirmed that the unemployment rate rose to 4 percent in April 2025, up from 3.9 percent in March, with general employment falling to 60.7 percent. The number of job vacancies also declined by 3 percent to 135,400.

In related news, Zionist reports have warned of even more severe economic collapses due to new Yemeni threats, particularly the imposition of a maritime blockade on Haifa Port. The blockade poses high risks to vital, major economic facilities surrounding the port, which could further complicate the enemy's economic situation.

The reports confirmed that growing concerns in the oil, gas, and electricity sectors will likely lead to rising prices in those areas and associated services.

On Tuesday, the so-called “Association of Construction Contractors Union” affiliated with the Zionist entity filed a lawsuit against the government of criminal Netanyahu over losses suffered by the construction and infrastructure sectors due to the continued aggression on Gaza and its repercussions.

The lawsuit states that the economic losses in construction and infrastructure have exceeded $36 billion, holding Netanyahu’s government responsible for these damages.

In addition, heavy losses have continued to impact the construction and infrastructure sector in northern occupied Palestine settlements due to Hezbollah’s rocket operations before the ceasefire with Lebanon.

The criminal government continues to stall in addressing repairs to what Hezbollah destroyed, while (Zionist settlers) refuse to return to the settlements—placing an additional burden on the enemy.

Meanwhile, Zionist economists accused Netanyahu’s government of falsifying the economic reality, asserting that its claims of growth in GDP are mere propaganda contradicted by actual market movement. They pointed to rising prices in food, goods, real estate services, and property in general.

In this regard, economic reports confirm that the inflation rate for April surprised analysts by rising 1.1 percent compared to forecasts of 0.6 percent. This puts the so-called “Bank of Israel” in a difficult position, preventing any adjustment to interest rates—indicating that recession and inflation will continue to rise.

On Monday, Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e announced the intention to enforce a maritime blockade on Haifa Port in occupied Palestine, similar to the one imposed on the Zionist Port of Umm Al-Rashrash (Eilat), leading to a complete shutdown of operations there.

This latest move comes after Yemen’s success in enforcing an aerial blockade on Lod Airport (Ben Gurion), as part of its broader effort to impose a suffocating siege on the Zionist enemy and isolate it from the rest of the world—until the aggression ends and the siege on Gaza is lifted.
