According to these sources, this price hike coincides with Sana'a's continued air blockade on the entity's airports and the cancellation of flights to "Israel" by dozens of international airlines.
For example, a round-trip ticket from the occupied territories to Larnaca, Cyprus, in early July will cost $267 on Aegean Airlines, compared to $230 in the summer of 2023 and just $210 in the summer of 2024.
On Hungarian airline Wizz Air, the price this year is $141, down from $181 during the same period in 2023—though this is an exceptional discount, as reported by the Hebrew economic newspaper Calcalist.
Flights on Zionist airlines have become even more expensive. A trip to Larnaca on El Al in July will cost $326, up from just $176 in the summer of 2023.
On Arkia, the price is $341 compared to $246 in 2023, while flights within the entity cost $307, up from $259 that year.
According to data from the occupied territories' statistics bureau, Zionists are now spending significantly more on air travel. Between the first quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2025, flight costs rose by 6.3%.
Yoni Waxman, deputy CEO of Ophir Tours, confirmed that since the start of the aggression on Gaza, the aviation industry has seen a sharp price increase, particularly on short and popular routes like the one to Cyprus’ Larnaca. Ticket prices on Zionist airlines surged by tens of percent between 2023 and 2024, sometimes even doubling, due to rising operational costs and reduced flight availability during certain periods.
In an unusual development for the entity, foreign airlines remain hesitant to resume flights to "Israel," suspending or canceling all trips until a specified date—between mid-June and late July 2025.
This follows the Yemeni Armed Forces' imposition of an air blockade on Lod Airport (referred to by the Israelis as "Ben Gurion"), the gateway of the occupied Zionist entity to the world. The continued missile attacks from Yemen targeting the airport—a response to the ongoing aggression and siege on Gaza—have deterred international airlines due to the Zionist entity's inability to mitigate the deteriorating security situation.
Over the past few weeks, numerous airlines have extended their flight suspensions, including:
Germany’s Lufthansa (no flights before June 15),
Air Baltic (until June 2, extendable),
ITA Airways (until June 8),
Air India (until June 19),
Ryanair (until the end of July—Europe’s largest low-cost carrier, which has already incurred €3.8 million in losses due to cancellations),
British Airways (canceled flights until late July),
Air Canada (until September).
The usurping criminals of Netanyahu’s government bear responsibility for the worsening security conditions, terrorizing settlers in their homes and forcing them into underground shelters to escape Yemeni missiles targeting the entity—missiles that its air defenses fail to intercept.
Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, the Yemeni Armed Forces have launched a series of strategic military operations—including missile and drone strikes as well as naval and aerial blockades—targeting Israeli-linked infrastructure and shipping routes.
What began with the disruption of maritime traffic in the Red Sea soon evolved into more expansive campaigns, affecting key Israeli economic hubs such as the port of Eilat and Lod Airport.
These operations form part of Yemen’s declared policy of pressuring Israel to end its war on Gaza and lift the siege. The attacks have triggered widespread disruptions in international shipping, tourism, and air travel, with dozens of global airlines suspending operations to and from Israeli airports.
