President Mashat noted that this year’s Eid al-Adha comes amid immense suffering endured by the people of Gaza. “The cries of children under the rubble and the tears of mothers mourning their sons are a call to conscience,” he said. “They urge us all to stand for justice, undeterred by the arrogance of the oppressors.”
He affirmed that Yemeni operations will persist until the aggression ends and the siege on Gaza is lifted. The President also warned Arab, Islamic nations about the dangers of maintaining weak or complicit positions with the Zionist entity, stressing that such stances would bring peril upon the entire region.
President Mashat reaffirmed Yemen's firm and escalating stance in enforcing maritime and aerial blockades against the Zionist enemy.
“The declared ambitions of the criminal Zionist entity do not stop at Palestine. They extend to Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, and ultimately threaten the entire Islamic Ummah,” he warned.
He strongly condemned the genocidal crimes being committed in Gaza, holding the United States accountable for enabling them through unprecedented political and military support. Referring to Washington’s recent veto at the UN Security Council, President Mashat said it further confirms the US government’s full partnership in Zionist criminality.
The statement underscored Yemen’s continued solidarity with Gaza and its commitment to resistance until justice is achieved.
President Mahdi Al-Mashat’s Eid al-Adha address comes at a time of escalating regional turmoil and deepening humanitarian crises, particularly in the Gaza Strip. Since October 2023, Israel's military campaign in Gaza has resulted in tens of thousands of casualties, widespread destruction, and the displacement of over a million people. The situation has drawn global condemnation, but international efforts to halt the violence have largely stalled due to geopolitical divisions, notably the repeated use of veto power by the United States at the United Nations Security Council.
Yemen has positioned itself as a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause. In recent months, Yemen has intensified its anti-Israel stance through military actions, including carrying out attacks against Israeli targets using ballistic and hypersonic missiles as well as drones. Yemen has also imposed a naval blockade on Israeli shipping in the Red Sea, and in May, it expanded this blockade to include Lod Airport and Haifa Port in northern occupied Palestine.
