News_ Yemen: Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, affirmed Yemen’s solidarity with the international activists arrested by the Israeli occupation forces aboard the ship Madeleine.

In a statement on Monday, Al-Houthi said, “The arrest of these brave activists, including a European MP, confirms the brutality of the occupation and its determination to punish anyone who rejects its terrorism and crimes in Gaza.”

Al-Houthi expressed full support for the activists’ stance in calling for an end to the siege on Gaza and the aggression against its people, noting that their position aligns with Yemen’s unwavering support for Gaza.

On Sunday, Israeli occupation forces intercepted the ship Madeleine and arrested 12 international activists onboard as it sailed toward Gaza in an attempt to break the blockade.

The Madeleine, operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, had departed from Sicily last week carrying urgent humanitarian supplies for Gaza, including baby formula, flour, rice, desalination kits, medical aid, and prosthetic limbs for children.

Earlier, on May 2, an Israeli drone struck another vessel operated by the coalition—The Conscience—in international waters off the coast of Malta. The group condemned the attack as a blatant “violation of international law.”

UN agencies and leading aid organizations have repeatedly warned that Gaza is on the brink of famine, citing severe Israeli restrictions, the breakdown of civil order, and widespread looting as key factors hampering the delivery of life-saving aid to the enclave’s approximately two million residents.
