Military Expert: Al-Mashat’s Warnings Shift Deterrence, Weaken Israeli Superiority

News - Yemen: Military and strategic expert, Brigadier General Mujib Shamsan, affirmed that Yemen's President Mahdi Al-Mashat’s warnings — particularly his statement that F-35 fighter jets would become a “laughingstock to the world” — represent a pivotal point in the equation of aerial deterrence and strip the Zionist entity of one of its most important advantages.

In his interview with Al-Masirah TV on Tuesday, Shamsan pointed out that Yemeni deterrence has surpassed the battlefield, imposing a new regional and strategic reality that threatens the existence and continuity of the Zionist entity. This has been made possible by Yemen’s possession of advanced military capabilities that deprive the enemy of its air and naval power.

Brigadier General Shamsan explained that the confusion and disruption within the Zionist entity expose the falsehood of its claims about intercepting Yemeni missiles.

He emphasized that the repeated Yemeni launches and the enemy’s failure to counter them confirm the effectiveness of the Zualfiqar missile, known for its precision and ability to bypass air defenses, inflicting heavy material losses on the enemy.

He stressed that Yemen has not yet used its multi-warhead missiles, which would have devastating and catastrophic effects on the Zionist entity.

Shamsan noted that the Yemeni operations have caused a “turnaround, flipping the equation upside down,” transitioning from the use of “lighter” anti-armor systems to hypersonic missiles and naval weapons — now symbols of deterrence against American power — forcing US aircraft carriers to withdraw from the operational zone. This, he said, reflects the collapse of the hegemony alliance and the dawn of the Zionist entity’s demise.

He also revealed a high level of coordination between the Yemeni Armed Forces and the Palestinian resistance, placing Yemen at the heart of the confrontation with the Zionist entity. Yemen has imposed a multi-dimensional blockade, including a naval blockade of the enemy’s ports and Lod Airport, in addition to political and economic isolation.

He warned that the failure of international entities to respond to Yemen’s warnings would lead to severe consequences, especially with the potential use of multi-warhead missiles, which would vastly expand the danger zone beyond control.

Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemen has launched a series of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli interests in solidarity with the Palestinian people. These operations have included strikes on occupied cities and infrastructure, as well as maritime disruptions in the Red Sea aimed at Israeli-linked vessels.

The Yemeni Armed Forces stressed that these operations are part of a broader campaign to pressure Israel into ending its siege on Gaza and halting its military aggression. In response, the United States and its allies have attempted to intercept Yemeni projectiles and bolster regional defense systems, though with limited success.

The effectiveness and frequency of Yemeni operations have overwhelmed traditional missile defense systems and forced even high-security facilities—such as embassies and intelligence headquarters—to take shelter repeatedly.

These developments mark a significant shift in the strategic landscape of the region, expanding the battlefield beyond Gaza and Lebanon to include the Arabian Peninsula, and raising questions about the durability of US-Israeli deterrence and defense capabilities.
