Mossad Spy Arrested at Mercenary Embassy in Beirut After Identifying Targets in Yemen

News - Yemen: In a complex security and diplomatic case, Lebanese security forces have arrested a Yemeni mercenary working as an advisor at the Yemeni embassy in Beirut, affiliated with the Saudi-backed government in Aden, after being recruited as a spy for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency.

The spy, identified as Muqbil B.A.H., confessed to carrying out intelligence tasks and identifying targets for the Israeli regime, including the Amran Cement Factory in Yemen, which was indeed attacked.

Lebanese security sources confirmed that the arrest was made by the Central Investigation Division and the Information Branch. The suspect, born in 1982 and originally from Yemen’s Hodeidah governorate, held the position of advisor at the Yemeni embassy in Beirut. He was apprehended after detailed surveillance tracked his movements between hotels since his arrival in Lebanon.

According to security sources cited by Unews Agency, Muqbil arrived in Lebanon on March 4 with an official appointment from the Saudi-backed government in Aden.

The investigation, according to Unews, revealed that the spy admitted to being recruited by Mossad while residing in Egypt, in exchange for promises of French residency. More alarmingly, he confessed to having already begun carrying out espionage tasks on behalf of the Israeli regime.

One of his most significant tasks was identifying the location of the Amran Cement Factory in Yemen, which was later targeted by Israel on May 6. The investigation also revealed that he purchased a 2011 Mercedes ML to facilitate his movements in Lebanon while carrying out his missions.

Media outlets affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition and its mercenaries attempted to link the scandal to Sana'a in an effort to tarnish its reputation, but the facts are now clear.

Diplomatic sources at Yemen’s Foreign Ministry in Sana'a confirmed that the arrested individual is affiliated with the Aden government and receives his salary from there and from Saudi Arabia. They emphasized that he has no connection to Sana'a or its officials.

This case reveals the depth of intelligence infiltration and the grave security challenges facing the region. It also highlights the close coordination between the Aden-based government, Israel, and Riyadh.
