News - Middle East: Israeli military forces have killed a Palestinian teenager in the northern sector of the West Bank amid simmering tensions across the occupied territory and the Tel Aviv regime’s ongoing genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip.

The official Palestinian WAFA news agency, citing Palestine’s ministry of health, reported that Israeli forces stormed the town of Kafr Malik, located 17 kilometers (10 miles) northeast of the city of Ramallah, on Monday evening, and opened fire on local residents.

Local reports said Ammar Mu’taz Hamayel, 13, was shot and detained by Israeli occupation forces for a while before being handed over to a Palestinian ambulance.

He was transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, where he was later pronounced dead due to his grave injuries.

The Israeli military later claimed in a statement, without providing evidence, that Hamayel had been throwing stones at settlers’ vehicles at the time of the incident.

In a related development, Israeli occupation forces detained two Palestinians from the Old City of al-Quds on Monday evening.

According to local reports, the occupation forces rounded up a woman and a minor from the vicinity of Bab al-Khalil, also known as Jaffa Gate.

In the predawn and morning hours of Monday, Israeli troops carried out multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, detaining at least 28 Palestinians.

Israel has ramped up its aggression against Palestinians across the West Bank since October 7, 2023, when it launched a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and thousands of others injured by Israeli settlers or troops across the occupied territory since the onset of the war.

More than 700,000 Israelis live in over 230 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank and East al-Quds.

The international community views the settlements as illegal under international law and the Geneva Conventions due to their construction on the occupied territories.
