News - Yemen: A Jordanian political figure praised Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and its backing of Islamic resistance movements in Gaza.

Jamal Al-Shurabji, a member of the Political Bureau of the Jordanian Democratic People's Party, stated that Yemen stands as a true partner of the Palestinian people in confronting one of the most brutal enemies and destructive war machines in history. "Thanks to the great Yemeni people for standing firm and supporting our people in Palestine despite the hardships they themselves are enduring," he said.

In an interview with Arab Journal, Al-Shurabji described Yemen as a "great nation," emphasizing that no honorable person could forget the heroic positions Yemen has taken in support of the Palestinian cause against occupiers and invaders. He added that Yemen has never abandoned its courageous role in defending the legitimate Palestinian right and the broader Arab right to independence and self-reliance.

He further noted that "all the reactionary and arrogant forces in the region have come to recognize the importance of Yemen’s role in supporting Gaza and the strength of Yemeni deterrence by closing the Red Sea to American and European warships." Al-Shurabji stressed that "Yemen has forced all its enemies into retreat, surrender, and even begging the Yemeni people and government to allow safe passage through the Red Sea."

He continued, "A thousand salutes to every young and old Yemeni, to every Yemeni mother and woman who take to the streets and squares by the millions in daily and weekly support of the Palestinian people. Yemen will remain a steadfast pillar of the resistance axis—unbreakable and unyielding."

Al-Shurabji concluded by asserting that "the Zionist enemy will ultimately raise the flag of surrender and withdraw from Gaza, dragging behind it the shame of human disgrace. The Palestinian people will not be broken by this destruction, this killing, or this starvation."

Since the onset of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemen has emerged as a central force within the Axis of Resistance, actively supporting the Palestinian people through both military operations and mass popular mobilization. The Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out dozens of missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets and allied maritime assets, while Yemenis across the country have held weekly marches in solidarity with Gaza.

This unwavering stance has earned Yemen growing recognition across the Arab world, particularly among pro-Palestinian political and resistance movements. Voices from Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and beyond have praised Yemen’s role not only as a symbolic supporter but also as a strategic actor—especially after its actions disrupted Red Sea shipping and challenged Western naval dominance in the region.
