In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry described the cowardly Zionist aggression as a blatant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as a breach of the United Nations Charter and all international norms, treaties, and laws. It emphasized that the repeated targeting of civilian infrastructure in Yemen by the occupying entity demonstrates its criminal nature, disregard for international law, and its complete failure to achieve its objectives in Yemen.
The statement also condemned the deafening silence of the international community regarding the war crimes being committed by the Zionist entity in Yemen, affirming Yemen’s legitimate right to respond and defend itself against the Zionist aggression. It stressed that this aggression will not go unpunished.
The Ministry called on the international community to rein in the Zionist entity and force it to end the genocide being committed in Gaza, which has resulted in the martyrdom of over 57,000 people and the injury of more than 136,000—most of them women and children.
The statement added that stability in the region can only be achieved by ending the siege and aggression on Gaza, ending the Zionist occupation, and establishing a Palestinian state across the entirety of the national territory with Al-Quds as its capital.
It concluded by reaffirming that Yemen’s supportive position toward Gaza remains unwavering, and that support operations will continue at full pace until the aggression and blockade on Gaza are fully lifted.
The Israeli regime has intensified its military campaign against Yemen after the Yemeni Armed Forces launched a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile at Lod (Ben Gurion) Airport, causing a temporary shutdown and sending millions into shelters. On Sunday night, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on Hodeidah, a key port city in western Yemen.
In a clear escalation, the Israeli military had earlier issued evacuation threats for three Yemeni ports—Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and as-Salif—along with the Hodeidah power station, claiming that these sites were being used for military purposes.
This comes as part of Israel's attempts to undermine the Yemeni Armed Forces, which have taken a frontline role in enforcing a strategic blockade on vessels heading toward Israeli-controlled ports. The blockade is intended to pressure Tel Aviv by disrupting its supply chains, particularly those involving military logistics, and to draw global attention to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, over 57,300 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza due to relentless Israeli ground and aerial operations. In response, the Yemeni Armed Forces declared open support for the Palestinian resistance and pledged to continue missile and drone attacks on Israeli positions until the aggression on Gaza ceases.
