This announcement followed an earlier statement by the Yemeni Armed Forces today confirming the targeting of the ship in response to repeated violations by the owning company of the ban on entry to ports in occupied Palestine.
Sare'e noted that the latest violations included the entry of three ships belonging to the company into occupied Palestinian ports during the past week, despite warnings and calls issued by the Yemeni naval forces.
The sinking of the Magic Seas marks a significant escalation in Yemen’s enforcement of its declared maritime blockade on Israeli-linked shipping. The ship was targeted and ultimately sunk by the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red Sea after repeated warnings to its parent company, which had continued to send vessels to ports in occupied Palestine despite the ban.
The incident comes amid a broader campaign by Yemen’s Armed Forces in solidarity with Gaza, as they seek to pressure Israel to halt its war and lift the siege.
