Ministry of Justice Denounces Zionist Aggression Against Yemen's Ports

News - Yemen: Yemen's Ministry of Justice and Human Rights condemned the Zionist aggression on the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, Al-Salif, and the central power station in Ras Kathib.

The ministry stated in its statement that ten Israeli warplanes carried out a series of brutal airstrikes aimed at rendering these vital civilian facilities non-operational and disabling them from performing their purely humanitarian roles and tasks. These ports are considered the only lifeline for the entry of food, medicine, petroleum derivatives, humanitarian aid, and essential supplies that more than twenty million Yemenis cannot do without.

The statement warned the international system complicit with the criminal Zionist behavior targeting civilian sites and ignoring all grave violations by the criminal Zionist entity that breach all international law rules and principles criminalizing attacks on civilians and civilian objects.

It affirmed the legitimate right of the Yemeni people and their Armed Forces to defend themselves and their resources by all available legitimate means, stressing that these attacks will not deter Yemen from its principled, steadfast, and ongoing position in supporting the oppressed Palestinian people, who are subjected to the most heinous crimes of systematic genocide and inhumane violations.

The statement considered Yemen’s support for the Palestinian people a religious and moral duty that it will not abandon, regardless of the sacrifices, amid the shameful silence of the UN system and the international community.

It reiterated Yemen’s full right to defend itself, deter any foreign aggression, and the right of its political and military leadership to take whatever measures are necessary to protect the country’s sovereignty, preserve its national security, and safeguard the interests of its people.

The ministry held the UN to be fully legally, morally, and humanely responsible for the Zionist crimes, lawlessness, and blatant aggression against Yemen.

It called on the international system to urgently pressure the Zionist entity, supported by America, to respect Yemen’s national sovereignty, immediately stop its aggression against Yemen and Gaza without conditions or restrictions, lift the unjust siege imposed on the people of Gaza, and hold war criminals and violators accountable.

The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights affirmed that the rights of the Yemeni people remain above all considerations, that the crimes of the Zionist-American aggression will not fall under any statute of limitations, and that Yemen will always stand on the side of truth and justice alongside all oppressed peoples, based on its righteous faith path, its noble humanitarian principles, and its free national constants.

In a clear escalation, the Israeli military had earlier issued evacuation threats for three Yemeni ports—Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and as-Salif—along with the Hodeidah power station, claiming that these sites were being used for military purposes.

This comes as part of Israel's attempts to undermine the Yemeni Armed Forces, which have taken a frontline role in enforcing a strategic blockade on vessels heading toward Israeli-controlled ports. The blockade is intended to pressure the Israeli enemy by disrupting its supply chains, particularly those involving military logistics, and to draw global attention to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

Since October 7, 2023, over 57,300 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza due to relentless Israeli ground and aerial operations. In response, the Yemeni Armed Forces declared open support for the Palestinian resistance and pledged to continue missile and drone attacks on Israeli positions until the aggression on Gaza ceases.
