Speaking to Almasirah TV, Al-Zahawi confirmed that Yemen’s deployment of locally produced hypersonic missiles “has disrupted the Zionist entity’s air defense systems and exposed their inability to intercept such weapons.” He noted that Yemeni forces have now imposed a new deterrence equation based on the principle: “port for port, airport for airport.”
He explained that “targeting Lod Airport, which the Israeli enemy calls Ben Gurion Airport, inflicts enormous economic losses far greater than any strikes on besieged Yemeni airports—since the airport is one of the enemy’s most vital economic hubs.”
He explained that targeting Lod Airport—referred to by the enemy as Ben Gurion Airport—inflicts far greater economic damage than any strike on besieged Yemeni airports, as it represents one of the enemy’s most vital economic arteries.
He added that Yemen’s list of targets now includes highly sensitive and strategic sites inside the Israeli entity, placing it in a strategic dilemma as its interior is no longer immune to accurate Yemeni strikes.
Meanwhile, economic analyst Rashid Al-Haddad discussed the direct financial impact of the Yemeni operations, confirming that they have intensified anxiety within Zionist economic circles. He stated that international airlines have delayed flights to the occupied territories, and shipping companies have started rerouting traffic away from Ashdod Port.
Al-Haddad pointed out that “international insurance companies have raised premiums for ships and aircraft heading toward the Israeli entity, increasing the cost of both imports and exports.” This, he noted, directly affects an already struggling Israeli economy, which is also burdened by the recent confrontation with Iran.
He emphasized that the Zionist entity is increasingly being perceived as an unsafe environment for investment, and that Yemen’s continued precision strikes are accelerating the erosion of international confidence in Israel’s ability to protect its economic partners’ interests.
According to analysts, Yemen’s recent operations represent a decisive military escalation and a clear strategic message: the depth of the Zionist entity is now exposed to advanced Yemeni capabilities—by air, sea, and against vital infrastructure. The operations also highlighted the failure of the "Iron Dome" system to handle new weapons, especially hypersonic missiles.
In recent years, Yemen has emerged as a significant player in the regional balance of power, particularly in the context of the ongoing conflict between the Axis of Resistance and the Israeli occupation. While traditionally viewed through the lens of its internal conflict and humanitarian crisis, Yemen's military evolution has positioned it as a key strategic actor capable of influencing events far beyond its borders.
Yemen’s involvement in the regional confrontation has intensified since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza, with Sana'a framing its actions as part of a broader moral and strategic commitment to the Palestinian cause. Through a series of missile and drone operations targeting Israeli assets, Yemen has signaled a readiness to escalate its role and impose maritime and aerial restrictions on Israel, including threats to close the Red Sea and target critical infrastructure.
