News- Middle East: Amid a major counterterrorism operation in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has struck sharp blows to Israel-linked terrorists.

The IRGC Ground Force’s Quds Base said in a statement on Thursday that servicemen with the elite force, in cooperation with local people, managed to seize 13 improvised explosive devices, 11 electric fuses, three remote controls, nine remote circuits, eight wireless devices, three booby traps, 38 meters of explosive wick, 47 kilograms of explosives set in various objects, 800 rounds of ammunition for machine guns and M16 assault rifles, as well as two vehicles from two terrorists’ hideouts in the coastal city of Chabahar as well as Nik Shahr city.

The statement added that members of the terror cell had planned to carry out attacks against various business centers, detonate bombs in busy and crowded places, create insecurity, and take revenge on the faithful people of Sistan and Baluchestan province for their support of Iran’s Islamic establishment and strong resolve to frustrate sinister Zionist plans.

The development came a day after the IRGC Ground Force neutralized six terrorists in Chabahar city during the ongoing large-scale “Martyrs of Security” drills.

The province of Sistan and Baluchestan, which shares a border with Pakistan, has experienced numerous terrorist attacks aimed at both civilians and security personnel in recent years.

It is believed that terrorist organizations conducting assaults on Iranian interests in the southeastern and southwestern regions of the nation are connected to foreign intelligence agencies.

On October 26 of the previous year, a terrorist attack in the Gohar Kuh district of Taftan County resulted in the deaths of 10 members of Iran's law enforcement forces.

The so-called Jaish al-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility for the assault, which was one of the deadliest in the province in recent months.

The group has carried out a multitude of terrorist assaults in Iran, mainly in Sistan and Baluchestan. Its tactics involve the kidnapping of border guards and the targeting of civilians and police stations in the region to provoke chaos and unrest.
