News- Middle East: A high-profile leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement says Israel has not offered any practical proposals aimed at ending the Gaza genocidal war, saying that surrender and humiliation have no place in the lexicon of resistance groups.

The Islamic Jihad’s Deputy Secretary General, Mohammed al-Hindi, said in a statement on Saturday that Palestinian resistance factions “will not accept any proposal that leads to surrender,” emphasizing that surrender and humiliation have no place in the groups’ lexicon. 

He praised the exemplary steadfastness of the Palestinian nation, alongside resistance fighters, in the course of the struggle against the occupying Zionist entity.

Hindi stated that the Palestinian negotiating team is demonstrating significant flexibility in its attempts to cease the aggression against the Gaza Strip.

However, he clarified, Israel has misinterpreted such flexibility and assumed it can eradicate the Resistance Front.

The senior Islamic Jihad leader noted that Israel is unable to make additional advancements without incurring a significant cost in terms of exhausting its resources, highlighting that time favors the resistance, which will not yield to Israeli surrender schemes.

Hindi asserted that the occupying Tel Aviv regime is under the delusion of being able to compel surrender, whereas, in reality, time is not in its favor.

He indicated that Israeli authorities aim to compel Palestinians to agree to only 40% of Gaza's territory, emphasizing that the regime’s unreasonableness is obstructing a complete halt to hostilities via a comprehensive agreement.

“The agreement under discussion must provide genuine guarantees and specify a definitive Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, in addition to establishing a mechanism that governs the distribution of aid and mitigates the risk of fatalities and further tragedies,” Hindi continued.

He pointed to the media misinformation campaign spearheaded by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to place the blame for the failure of the indirect Gaza ceasefire talks in Qatar on the Palestinian side.

“These claims do not reflect the reality and are part of a strategy to deceive international public opinion and provide political cover for the occupying Israeli regime,” he stated.
