News - Middle East: Iran has sharply denounced the Israeli regime for trying to “complete its colonial genocide project” against Palestinians through ever more lethal and devastating assaults.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei delivered the remarks on Wednesday after the regime slew more than 100 Palestinians as part of its October 2023-present war of genocide against the Gaza Strip.

The official singled out for criticism the regime’s ‘cowardly assassinations’ of Mohammad Faraj al-Ghoul, a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, and Alaa Azzam, a prominent Palestinian Holy Qur’an reciter, along with his family.

The fatalities took the number of Palestinians perished throughout the warfare to more than 58,000, with children and women forming the majority of the victims.

Baghaei also noted how the genocide had frequently featured the Israeli military’s bombing tents and gathering places for displaced persons.

The spokesman additionally highlighted the regime’s intensification of its 2007-present blockade of the coastal sliver amid the war, blasting the measure as a means of causing “deliberate starvation and dehydration” among the territory’s residents.

‘US-Israeli death traps’

Elsewhere in his remarks, the official lambasted the regime and its staunch backer, the United States, for setting up so-called aid delivery outposts, where Israeli forces would brutally target starving and heavily-malnourished Palestinians swarming for food supplies.

He said the measure amounted to a “staged and deceitful” charade, saying the outposts had rather turned into traps for massacring innocent, hungry, and thirsty women and children.

Baghaei finally condemned the inaction and indifference that was being imposed by the supporters and apologists of the Zionist regime leading to “normalization of the gravest violations of the international law.”
