News - Yemen: The Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, described the tragedy in Gaza as "truly horrific," stressing that "many of Gaza’s residents are enduring extreme hunger and a terrifying catastrophe, while hundreds of millions of Arabs and two billion Muslims watch as if they are a helpless nation."

In his speech commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Zayd ibn Ali (peace be upon him), the Leader said: "The Palestinian people in Gaza are now in the harshest stage of starvation, to the point where children are dying of hunger on a daily basis."

He pointed out that "the Israeli enemy has engineered the issue of humanitarian aid to turn it into traps for killing and extermination."

He affirmed that "the scale of the tragedy and injustice faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza is a threat to the entire Ummah, and what is happening to them is a tremendous catastrophe and a grave injustice."

The Leader strongly condemned the Ummah's passive observation and its abandonment of responsibility toward Gaza, stressing that such behavior poses "a grave danger to the Ummah and will be held accountable for it both in this world and the Hereafter."

He explained that "the Ummah’s passivity and detachment from its duty toward Gaza reveal a deep moral and humanitarian decline, as well as a deterioration in awareness and noble values."

"The loss of honor and dignity has reached an alarming level, revealing the urgent need for the Ummah to correct its course according to Allah’s laws of transformation,"
he added. "The Ummah’s indifference to the tragic scenes of children in Gaza dying from hunger is a deep disgrace — especially for the Arabs, and also for the rest of the Muslims."

"The horrifying level of complacency in the Ummah has emboldened the Israeli enemy and the Americans to act without fear of any response, no matter what they do to the Palestinian people."

In his speech, Sayyed Abdulmalik also addressed the issue of American-Israeli tyranny in our current era, confirming that it is "a threat to the Ummah through enslavement, humiliation, injustice, and the corruption of life."

He noted that "this tyranny targets the sanctities of the Ummah and aims to erase the features of its Islamic identity."

He concluded that "the right path to confront the American-Israeli threat is through serious movement based on guidance from the Holy Qur’an and a faithful spiritual awakening," pointing out that "resisting the American-Israeli assault — whether through soft warfare or military aggression — requires being guided by the light of the Qur’an."

The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues to escalate, with widespread famine, relentless bombardment, and a total blockade pushing the population to the brink of survival. Since October 2023, Israel’s military campaign has not only destroyed vital infrastructure but also weaponized humanitarian aid, using it as a means of control and even as a tool of violence. Children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable, with reports of deaths caused by severe malnutrition and dehydration.

Despite the horrifying conditions, the response from the Arab and Islamic world has largely been limited to statements and symbolic gestures, reflecting a deep crisis of moral responsibility. While millions of Muslims express solidarity, few governments have taken concrete steps to halt the atrocities or break the siege. This silence has emboldened Israel and its Western allies, who continue their aggression without fear of accountability.
