Various Israeli outlets reported the development on Friday, identifying the member of Knesset (the Israeli regime’s parliament) as Hanoch Milwidsky, a rising figure in prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party.
According to the reports, Milwidsky was summoned for questioning by Lahav 433, the regime’s “major crimes unit,” over alleged sexual crimes.
The unit confirmed that the official was questioned as a suspect after testimonies from multiple individuals had been collected.
Authorities have refused to name him in their official statement, vaguely noting only that a “sitting lawmaker” had been summoned for questioning.
Two others, however, were detained on suspicion of obstructing justice.
The investigation reportedly began covertly in 2022, with the police claiming they had summoned Milwidsky only after establishing “reasonable suspicion.”
In a statement, however, he accused the police of targeting him because of his political standing.
“Political persecution has crossed all boundaries,” he said, claiming that the regime’s attorney general and its judicial system sought to “destroy the public’s trust.”
“I will continue to act fearlessly for the goals of the right…”
The appeal to victimhood came just as Milwidsky was being positioned to chair the influential Knesset Finance Committee, a move backed by Netanyahu.
Critics, though, say the timing of his police summons is no coincidence.
This isn't the first time the official’s name has surfaced in such contexts.
Milwidsky has faced multiple sexual assault allegations in the past, yet has never been charged, with observers suspecting regime-sponsored impunity.
Before entering the Knesset in 2022, an anonymous woman said Milwidsky had sexually assaulted her in her own home back in 2014.
She had been working as a consultant when he visited her as a client. At the end of their meeting, as she walked him to the door, he allegedly assaulted her without warning.
“He just attacked me,” she told the regime’s Channel 12.
The assault reportedly ended only when she threatened to bite his neck, forcing him to face questions from his wife about the mark.
Earlier in the year, Milwidsky was once asked about the legitimacy of raping Palestinian prisoners.
He notoriously responded, “If he is a Nukhba [Hamas’ fighter], everything is legitimate to do! Everything!”
