News - Yemen: The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. Navy has faced tough confrontations with Yemeni Armed Forces, who have made missiles a central pillar of their military arsenal.

The newspaper quoted the chief engineer of the air defense sector at Johns Hopkins University as saying that one of the challenges is U.S. ships being forced to return to Mediterranean or Red Sea ports after exhausting their interceptor missiles. He confirmed that the Navy still lacks a reliable method for missile resupply at sea, noting that reloading missiles offshore is an extremely difficult task due to their weight and size.

A missile defense systems specialist told The Wall Street Journal that the confrontations in the Red Sea with Yemeni forces have shown that the U.S. needs vast quantities of interceptor missiles. He pointed out that despite Israel having a highly advanced, multi-layered defense system, it still suffers from a shortage of interceptors.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the 12-day U.S.-Zionist aggression against Iran exposed a troubling gap in America’s missile stockpile. During the war of aggression against Tehran, THAAD system operators consumed nearly a quarter of their interceptor missiles, prompting the Pentagon to redirect interceptors originally purchased by Saudi Arabia to systems deployed in the occupied territories.

Since the onset of the Israeli war on Gaza, Yemen has emerged as one of the most vocal and active supporters of the Palestinian cause, both rhetorically and militarily. Despite facing its own war, humanitarian crisis, and years of blockade, Yemen has leveraged its strategic position and revolutionary leadership to challenge Israeli and Western dominance in the region. Under the leadership of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, Yemen has not only taken symbolic stances but has also implemented direct action—such as naval and aerial embargoes on Israeli-linked infrastructure and support for the Palestinian resistance.
