Amnesty International Systematic Starvation in Gaza Amounts to Genocide

News - Middle East: In a recent statement, Amnesty International warned of the continued crimes committed against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, accusing Israeli occupation forces of carrying out a deliberate policy of mass starvation that amounts to genocide.

While Gaza's population endures agonizing waits for aid and a ceasefire, international warnings escalate without translating into real action to stop the worsening humanitarian catastrophe.

Amnesty stated that the Israeli regime continues to commit grave violations against Gaza’s civilians, including a systematic starvation campaign that meets the threshold of genocide—despite "horrifying" field testimonies confirming the depth of the humanitarian disaster.

The organization highlighted that Palestinian civilians face inhumane conditions, trapped in a cycle of hope and despair as they await humanitarian aid or a ceasefire to end their daily suffering.

Amnesty stressed that the ongoing pattern of systematic abuses—and the lack of accountability—reflects a dangerous global failure to protect human rights and prevent genocide.

It called on the international community to take immediate, concrete steps to pressure Israel to: Halt violations, Ensure unimpeded humanitarian aid, and Hold perpetrators of war crimes accountable.

As the aggression and siege continue, Palestinians in Gaza suffer deeper each day—amid international silence and ignored pleas from human rights groups. With Israel escalating its repression, Gaza’s civilians remain trapped, awaiting genocide while the world watches.

Earlier, Gaza’s Government Media Office announced that at least 122 Palestinians — including 83 children — have died from starvation since Israel’s military onslaught began in October 2023, most of them in recent weeks.

Since October 7, Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 59,676 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and forced the displacement of nearly the entire population of 2.2 million, reducing much of the coastal enclave to rubble.
