News - Yemen: Strategic military expert stated that the Yemeni Armed Forces have entered an advanced strategic phase, with their operational theater now extending from the Mediterranean Sea in the north to the Cape of Good Hope in the south, encompassing the Indian Ocean, the Red and Arabian Seas, and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

In an interview with Almasirah TV on Thursday, Brigadier General Abdulghani Al-Zubaidi confirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces are conducting their operations with high efficiency and competence, driven by a clear strategic vision, steadfast resolve, and an expanded, diverse target bank. He added that Yemen has previously carried out qualitative operations targeting ships in the Mediterranean Sea, which were officially announced by the Yemeni Armed Forces—and even acknowledged by the "Zionist enemy" itself.

He noted that the current state of confusion plaguing the "Zionist enemy" stems from its failure to obtain accurate intelligence on Yemen’s capabilities, despite continuous attempts by international intelligence agencies and some mercenaries promoting the false narrative that Yemen’s weapons originate from Iran. This contradicts U.S. President Donald Trump’s admission that missiles and drones are manufactured inside Yemen—leading to U.S. airstrikes on their production facilities.

Al-Zubaidi explained that the fourth phase of Yemen’s military operations has resulted in precise and diverse strikes, sending a clear message that any company or ship dealing with the "Zionist enemy"—unless their home countries take measures to stop it—will be vulnerable to targeting. This is especially true given Yemen’s access to accurate intelligence on vessel identities, nationalities, destinations, and routes—even if they attempt deception or disable tracking signals.

He added, "There is clear support from some Arab countries, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia," in attempts to break the blockade, which requires a firm stance from Yemen.

Al-Zubaidi emphasized that some Arab regimes’ cooperation with the "Zionist entity" is not limited to the economic sphere but extends to military and logistical support, making them complicit in the war crimes committed against the Palestinian people. He also addressed Turkish-Zionist relations, noting that members of Turkey’s parliament—even from the opposition—have pointed to ongoing commercial and military cooperation between Ankara and the "entity," a disheartening message for Gazans who once viewed Turkey as an ally.

Despite Yemen’s limited resources compared to major powers, Al-Zubaidi stressed that it possesses effective leverage, most notably the naval blockade. He asserted that future steps must target "those who betrayed the Ummah" by siding with the "Zionist enemy" in its criminal war on Gaza. Economic measures and maritime pressure remain viable tools in the absence of direct military confrontation.

The ongoing Israeli aggression in the region has intensified in recent months. As part of its defense strategy, the Israeli enemy has relied heavily on advanced US-supplied missile defense systems, including the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system, designed to intercept ballistic missiles in their terminal phase.

Yemen has increasingly targeted Israeli positions with long-range missile and drone attacks, especially in response to the war on Gaza and regional Israeli aggressions. These attacks have tested the effectiveness of American missile defense systems deployed in the region.
