Military Expert: Yemen’s Advanced Military Capabilities Challenge Israeli Defense Systems

News - Yemen: Military and strategic expert, Colonel Rashad Al-Wutairi, confirmed that Yemen’s will and advanced military capabilities have succeeded in thwarting the Zionist defensive and strategic systems, imposing a maritime and aerial blockade on the enemy entity.

Colonel Al-Wutairi stated on Wednesday that after years of failing to undermine Yemen’s capabilities, Israel now seeks to acquire laser interception systems in a desperate attempt to limit the Yemeni Armed Forces’ capabilities.

He noted that this acknowledgment of the failure of Zionist defense systems, such as the Iron Dome, confirms the development of Yemeni capabilities, which have reached advanced stages in targeting the enemy’s military and economic assets.

Al-Wutairi highlighted that Yemeni operations targeting enemy airports, including Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, were executed with precision and success, demonstrating Israel’s inability to confront these capabilities. He also pointed to the significant economic impact of the blockade imposed by the Yemeni Armed Forces on Israel.

He emphasized the failure of the US-led coalition called for by Israel, describing American movements in the region, including aircraft carriers, as a desperate attempt to reassure Gulf states to support Israel again. The US Navy has reportedly replaced some of its defense systems with “more flexible and cost-effective” ones, implicitly admitting the failure of its conventional weapons against Yemeni capabilities.

Al-Wutairi asserted that the “Yemeni mind will innovate” against any new threats, and that the Yemeni Armed Forces are ready to engage in defense and offense, capable of confronting the world’s strongest power.

He stressed that Yemen’s stance toward Gaza is ethical and constitutional, truly supporting the Palestinian people, and contrasted this with other Arab and Muslim states abandoning Gaza. Yemen, he said, stood firm with its people, leaders, and free men defending Palestinian blood.

He added that Yemen’s strong and bold position has forced the US enemy out of the confrontation field, monitoring all enemy movements and surprising them with advanced military capabilities.

Al-Wutairi confirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue precision operations and maintain a strong blockade on Israel until the aggression ends and the siege on the Palestinian people is lifted. He warned that Yemen possesses complex military “surprises” difficult for American and Zionist minds to detect, and that the world is beginning to recognize the success and reality of Yemen’s stance.

Since late 2023, the Yemeni Armed Forces have sharply escalated operations in response to the Israeli war on Gaza and the US-British backing for it. Positioning themselves as a key actor in regional resistance, Yemen has waged a sustained campaign against Israel-linked shipping in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and beyond, while imposing aerial and maritime blockades on the Israeli entity.

By deploying ballistic and hypersonic missiles alongside advanced drones, Yemen has disrupted established military balances in regional waters, forcing US and Israeli defense planners to confront threats they had long considered improbable. Many analysts now regard the confrontation as one of the most significant maritime conflicts since World War II, with repercussions extending far beyond the Red Sea.

The apparent withdrawal or repositioning of US forces following direct Yemeni threats to aircraft carriers has been seen as both a strategic and symbolic victory for Sana’a—and a humiliating setback for Washington, especially under Donald Trump’s administration, which had pledged to maintain unchallenged dominance in the region.
