News - Yemen: Speaker of the House of Representatives Yahya Al-Ra’i called on the Lebanese people to remain vigilant against Zionist conspiracies targeting Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty.

In a congratulatory cable sent to Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on the 19th anniversary of the historic victory in the July 2006 war, Al-Ra’i praised Hezbollah for setting a distinguished example in confronting the Zionist enemy. 

He highlighted the malicious goals of Zionist schemes targeting Lebanon, the Arab region, and the nation’s sanctities, reiterating Yemen’s unwavering stance in support of Lebanon and its heroic resistance until the complete victory over the enemies of the nation is achieved.

This comes amid renewed political tension in Lebanon, where internal and external pressures are mounting to disarm Hezbollah. Nineteen years after the 2006 war, the resistance movement remains a central pillar of Lebanon’s defense strategy, credited with deterring Israeli aggression and maintaining a balance of power along the southern border.

However, recent months have seen intensified political and media campaigns—backed by Israel and its Western allies—calling for Hezbollah’s disarmament, a move resistance supporters argue would leave Lebanon vulnerable to Israeli ambitions. This push coincides with ongoing Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty and increased sectarian incitement, which many view as attempts to fracture the unity that proved decisive during the 2006 conflict.
