News - Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces announced a targeted military operation against Israel’s Lod Airport using a Palestine-2 hypersonic missile, in response to Israel’s attacks on Gaza and its aggression toward Yemen. The operation, confirmed by military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yahya Sare'e, caused panic among Israeli personnel and temporarily suspended airport operations.

Military analyst Col. Rashad Al-Watari told Al-Masirah TV that the strike came swiftly after a failed Israeli attempt to attack Yemeni territory. He described Israeli claims that the attack caused no damage as evidence of strategic, military, and intelligence failure, emphasizing that the operation reinforces Yemen’s “deterrence balance” and its commitment to supporting Palestinian resistance.

Al-Watari added that any potential Israeli naval response is unlikely to succeed, given Yemen’s advanced air defenses and retaliatory capabilities. He described Israel as “a satellite of the United States” and predicted that its naval forces would face a fate similar to the US fleet, which previously withdrew from Yemen.

The analyst also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “Greater Israel” plan aimed at regional expansion, as well as regional actors who have ignored this strategy while focusing on Iran. He emphasized that Yemenis remain undeterred by US or Israeli threats and are determined to confront expansionist ambitions.

The strike on Lod Airport is part of Yemen’s broader military campaign targeting Israeli and US-linked sites in retaliation for ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza. Sana’a frames these operations as part of its stated duty to support Palestinians, disrupt enemy logistics, and demonstrate resilience against Israeli attacks on Yemen.
