News – Middle East: Intense air and artillery strikes by the Israeli enemy on the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza, particularly Zeitoun, have forced thousands of residents to flee, amid what local reporters describe as widespread destruction and civilian suffering.

Al-Masirah correspondent Duaa Rouqa reported that continuous bombardment has reduced residential blocks and high-rise buildings to rubble. She described the attacks as “total destruction of everything,” targeting densely populated areas with no distinction between civilians and structures. Similar displacement and destruction have occurred in Shujaiya, Al-Tuffah, and northern areas including Beit Lahia, Jabalia, and Beit Hanoun, leaving western Gaza overcrowded and struggling to accommodate the influx of internally displaced people.

The offensive follows a military plan outlined by the Israeli enemy’s Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, which reportedly aims to occupy all of Gaza and forcibly relocate residents to southern districts. Despite the violence, local residents have expressed firm resistance to further displacement, vowing to remain in their homes, makeshift shelters, or open areas rather than abandon the city.

The humanitarian situation has deteriorated sharply after more than 100 days of blockade. Food, water, and medical supplies remain critically limited, and some imported aid is reportedly expired, causing widespread health issues, especially among children. Damage to water wells has forced residents to consume unsafe water, while hospitals struggle with shortages of medicines, anesthesia, and other essentials, delaying critical surgeries even at major facilities such as Nasser Medical Complex.

Local observers noted that the Israeli enemy has recently brought in large numbers of tents under the guise of humanitarian assistance, seen by some as preparation for further forced relocations. Meanwhile, Egyptian mediation efforts have sought to propose a new ceasefire to Hamas, but ongoing military escalation leaves prospects uncertain, raising fears of a broader intensification in the coming days.

The escalation in Gaza comes amid a broader campaign by the Israeli enemy against Palestinian territories, with repeated air and artillery strikes targeting civilian areas and infrastructure. 

International humanitarian agencies have repeatedly warned of the mounting crisis, citing severe shortages of essential services and the high risk of further civilian casualties.
