News - Middle East: The Palestinian resistance movement has urged maximum international pressure on Israel to reopen the crossings and end the ongoing genocide and starvation affecting more than two million Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

In a statement released Tuesday, Hamas called for the enforcement of arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former war minister, Yoav Gallant.

The Palestinian resistance group also called for the prosecution of other Israeli officials responsible for serious crimes, using international legal bodies and judicial mechanisms.

"Efforts must be activated to stop the aggression and genocide, prosecute occupation leaders, foremost war criminal Netanyahu, bring them to international justice, and isolate this entity that threatens global peace and security," the statement read. 

It also pointed out that Israel's all-out aggression has destroyed Gaza's civilian infrastructure and health care system.

“As war criminal Netanyahu - wanted by the International Criminal Court - and his Zio-Nazi government persist in disregarding UN resolutions and international appeals to stop their aggression and crimes against defenseless civilians, and deliberately block medicines and medical supplies to destroy Gaza’s health sector.”

Hamas said it was no longer acceptable that states, governments, and organizations just condemn "the Zionist regime’s crimes, which violate all values, norms, and laws."

The resistance movement further called on the UN, its agencies, and all Arab, Islamic, and international relief organizations to intensify humanitarian operations in the besieged Palestinian region. 

Hamas held the United States, the main backer of Israel, directly responsible for preventing aid entry, perpetuating starvation, and killing through its so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

The total number of aid seekers killed around the US-Israeli-backed distribution centers since May has now reached about 2,000.

Hamas strongly censured the regime’s systematic crimes against local and international aid groups and humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza. 

“We salute our people’s humanitarian and relief teams in Gaza, who serve under bombing, killing, and destruction. We vehemently condemn the occupation’s systematic crimes against them, desperately attempting to obstruct their humanitarian duty.”

The statement was issued on World Humanitarian Day, marked by the UN and countries worldwide on August 19 each year.

“The  international community’s commemoration of this day imposes political, legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities to immediately compel the fascist occupation government to halt genocide and starvation, and force it to allow humanitarian aid into all areas of Gaza.”

This year, the day is marked amid the ongoing genocide and starvation war relentlessly escalated by the Zionist occupation against over two million Palestinians for more than 22 months, the statement said.

"During this period, over 62,000 martyrs have been killed—most of them children and women—while nearly 40,000 children have been orphaned and 23,000 women widowed," it stated. 

Victims of famine have risen across the besieged Palestinian region to over 235, including 106 children.
