News - Yemen: Algerian intellectual and author Nour Eddine Abu Lahia described Yemen as the only Arab country providing a model of ideal resistance, jihad, and confrontation, citing its wise leadership, Quran-based project, unified army, and a faithful, culturally rich population.

In an interview with Arab Journal, Abu Lahia highlighted Yemen’s unique geographical and psychological strengths, including its mountainous terrain, resilience, deep faith aligned with prophetic teachings, and accumulated Quranic knowledge—factors he says are key to the success of Yemen’s resistance and the unity of its people behind their leadership.

He added that any successful resistance movement depends on an inclusive, non-sectarian approach and strong leadership, citing Yemen and Iran as examples.

Abu Lahia further emphasized that Yemen’s support for Gaza is multi-dimensional, encompassing economic and psychological influence, undermining the enemy’s prestige, and promoting Quranic culture through media. Yemen’s steadfast, faith-driven stance, he noted, stems from religious duty and surpasses political considerations and international pressures.

Since late 2023, Yemeni forces have repeatedly targeted Israeli and US-linked vessels in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, prompting the US and its allies to intensify naval deployments. Despite advanced missile defenses, US warships have struggled to fully neutralize Yemen’s drone and missile barrages, leading military experts to call for new interception technologies.

The Yemeni campaign has not only inflicted material and strategic losses on the Israeli enemy but has also shifted regional and international calculations. By striking economic lifelines and undermining the myth of Israeli security superiority, Yemen has redefined its role in the Arab-Israeli conflict—positioning itself as a central player in shaping the future balance of power in the region.
