News - Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces announced Monday that they targeted a Zionist oil tanker in the northern Red Sea, reaffirming their commitment to block Israeli-linked maritime traffic as part of their support for Palestine.

In a statement, the military said its Naval Forces carried out a missile strike against the SCARLET RAY, a Zionist oil vessel, hitting it directly with a ballistic missile. “The operation achieved a precise strike, by the grace of Allah,” the statement declared.

The Armed Forces stressed that such operations come in response to the Israeli enemy’s ongoing massacres and starvation tactics against the Palestinian people in Gaza. The statement reiterated that Israeli or Israel-bound ships remain banned from sailing through both the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.

“The operations will continue until the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza is lifted,” the Yemeni military affirmed, pledging further strikes against Israeli targets inside occupied Palestine as well as at sea.

Since late 2023, Yemen has enforced a naval blockade against Zionist vessels and ships linked to occupied ports, in solidarity with Palestinians under Israeli assault. The Red Sea has since become a central front in the wider regional conflict, with repeated Yemeni strikes targeting Israeli and Western commercial and military assets.

The attack on the SCARLET RAY follows a sharp escalation in Israeli operations across Gaza and last week’s Israeli aggression in Sana’a that killed Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi and several ministers.
