Following numerous reports across Israeli enemy media outlets, Hebrew-language Globes published a detailed analysis of the recent Yemeni drone strike that hit Ramon Airport.
The report highlighted serious gaps in both Israeli enemy and US defense systems and raised broad questions about Israel’s ability to counter drone threats originating from Yemen.
Globes asked how the Yemeni drone managed to traverse such a long distance and reach Ramon Airport in the Negev without triggering any alarms, noting the fear and concern this development has caused in Israel.
Analysts suggest that the new Yemeni drones’ small size, low-altitude flight, variable trajectory, and minimal radar signature make them extremely difficult to detect and intercept, presenting Israel with an unprecedented challenge.
The report further pointed out that Israel’s reliance on the Iron Dome and other naval and air defense systems leaves the occupied territories exposed to broader drone operations. These systems were primarily designed to counter short-range missiles and cannot fully intercept drones with the same efficiency.
Globes emphasized the economic and military strain this creates: intercepting each drone is costly, while Yemen’s drone technology is inexpensive yet highly effective, introducing a new, potentially dangerous cycle of attrition for Israel.
While the Israeli enemy Air Force has attempted to compensate using electronic warfare measures to jam drone communications and signals, the Ramon Airport strike demonstrated the limitations and frequent failures of these approaches.
The report concluded by describing Yemen’s success in striking Ramon Airport as a “serious blow to the credibility of Israel’s defense apparatus,” signaling a significant strategic challenge for the occupying forces.
Earlier, the Israeli army announced the activation of air-raid sirens in the Nitzana area, near the Egyptian border, citing the infiltration of hostile drones. Military radio stations acknowledged that three unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Yemen were detected over Sinai, with Israeli fighter jets attempting to intercept them.
The attack on Ramon Airport—located in the occupied southern territories—marks one of the most significant Yemeni drone operations in recent weeks. The strike underscores Sana’a’s continued ability to project force deep into enemy-held territory despite intensified US-British-Israeli efforts to neutralize its aerial capabilities.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have repeatedly declared that their military operations against the Zionist entity are part of a broader campaign to support the Palestinian people in Gaza, who have been enduring relentless bombardment and siege for nearly two years.
The assassination of Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser Al-Rahwi and several senior officials in the Israeli airstrike of August 28, 2025, did not weaken Yemen’s ability to support Gaza. Instead, it has intensified the pace of Yemeni attacks, with drones and long-range missiles targeting Israeli-linked shipping, ports, airports, and military installations.
