News - Yemen: Hezbollah’s Media Relations Department on Wednesday condemned the Israeli aggression on Yemen that targeted the newspapers 26 September and Al-Yemen, killing and injuring several journalists.

In a statement, Hezbollah said the attack on media institutions and journalists is consistent with Israel’s long-standing policy of silencing the press to conceal its crimes. 

The group described the strikes as proof of the “bankruptcy” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who it said is seeking false victories to escape “a swamp of failure and defeat” after failing to eliminate the resistance in Gaza and the West Bank, or to deter Yemen from supporting Gaza and exposing the Israeli enemy’s crimes.

Hezbollah expressed full solidarity with Yemen’s resistant media institutions and called on Arab and international press unions, media organizations, and human rights bodies to condemn the aggression and pursue legal action against the Israeli enemy in international courts to hold it accountable for its repeated attacks on journalists and media outlets.

The statement followed a wave of Israeli aggression on Sana’a and Al-Jawf on Wednesday that killed at least 35 civilians and wounded more than 130, according to Yemen’s Health Ministry. Among the targets were the headquarters of 26 September and Al-Yemen newspapers, prompting widespread condemnation from Palestinian and regional groups, who described the attacks as war crimes aimed at silencing free media.
