In his weekly address on Thursday, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi asserted that Israel's recent attack on Qatar demonstrated that it observes no red lines, disregarding the Gulf state's role in peace negotiations and its international relationships.
He described the strike as a "double aggression": one part targeting a Hamas negotiation delegation on Qatari soil, and the other a violation of Qatari sovereignty itself.
"This Israeli transgression in Qatar has revealed to all Arab states, in the Gulf and beyond, that it seeks to expand and entrench this equation of violation for the entire nation," Sayyed Abdulmalik stated. He emphasized that Israel feels emboldened by unwavering American support and described the U.S. as a full partner in enforcing this "unjust, aggressive" equation.
The leader expressed satisfaction that Hamas leaders had survived the assassination attempt, saying, "We thank God for the failure of the operation and congratulate our brothers in Hamas on the failure of this Israeli aggression."
He reserved his strongest criticism for the official Arab and Islamic response to Israeli actions, which he characterized as utterly ineffective. He lambasted the strategy of limiting reactions to issuing written statements of condemnation, calling it a "stupid and misleading" approach.
"The problem in our Islamic world is that a position is merely a verbal declaration of solidarity in a few lines, and that's the end of the matter," he said. He noted that not a single Arab state that had normalized relations with Israel had cut diplomatic ties in response to the war in Gaza or the attacks on Qatar, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.
He warned that Israeli "bullying and recklessness" stem from the absolute cancellation of any practical or actual movement by Arab and Islamic regimes. "The enemy and its supporters have learned that the ceiling in the Arab and Islamic reality, on a collective or individual level, is a few lines written on a paper and nothing more," Sayyed Abdulmalik added.
Expanding his focus, the leader warned of the ongoing Israeli attacks on Syria and Lebanon, framing them as part of a broad plan for regional domination facilitated by international and regional silence and complicity.
He stated that the continuous Israeli airstrikes on Syria represent "one of the greatest levels of escalation and aggression," not a routine matter. He alleged that Israel is working to impose control over southern Syria and manipulate the internal situation there, representing a direct threat to Iraq, Jordan, and neighboring countries.
Regarding Lebanon, Sayyed Abdulmalik criticized political pressures on the government to disarm the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah. He argued that the goal is to smooth the path for Israeli control over Lebanon without obstacles, calling it a "catastrophic policy" that leaves the nation defenseless while Israel is armed with the latest weapons.
