Yemeni Journalists Defy Zionist Aggression by Publishing 26 September Weekly Edition

News - Yemen: Journalists of 26 September newspaper in Sana’a released their weekly issue on Monday, despite the destruction of the paper’s headquarters and printing press in Israeli enemy aggression that killed 31 journalists last Wednesday.

The paper was published at its usual weekly time as a direct message of defiance to the Zionist entity. Its front page carried photos of the martyrs journalists under the bold headline: “Our message continues, Zionist terror will not intimidate us.”

The editorial board affirmed that the Israeli enemy’s aggression would not silence the voice of 26 September nor break the resolve of its journalists. The strikes, which also left 22 journalists wounded and dozens of civilians killed or injured, were condemned as a deliberate act of terror aimed at suppressing the press.

Issuing the new edition, the paper’s staff described their move as a professional and moral commitment to continue reporting, refusing to yield to Zionist attempts to silence them, even as colleagues fall victim to targeted attacks. They stressed their duty to expose the crimes of occupation in Gaza, where journalists have faced similar lethal assaults for nearly two years.

In a previous statement mourning the 31 victims, 26 September underscored that the massacre fits within the broader pattern of atrocities committed by the Zionist entity, particularly its ongoing campaign against journalists and media workers in Yemen and Palestine. The statement emphasized that Yemeni journalists’ blood has mingled with that of their counterparts in Gaza, where Israeli enemy strikes deliberately target reporters to obscure the reality of genocide.

The paper called on the United Nations, the Security Council, and all international media, human rights, and press unions to condemn the crime and hold the Zionist leadership fully accountable for its repeated violations against the press in Yemen and Palestine, warning that the enemy will ultimately pay the price for these atrocities.

Israeli airstrikes have in recent days escalated against civilian and media infrastructure in Yemen, with the attack on the headquarters of 26 September and Al-Yemen newspapers in central Sana’a marking one of the deadliest assaults on journalists in the country’s history.

The strike killed and wounded dozens, including media workers, residents and passersby, and drew condemnation from Yemeni and regional organizations. Observers say the attack reflects a broader Israeli strategy of targeting press institutions in both Yemen and Gaza in an effort to silence critical coverage and obscure the scale of civilian casualties.
