News - Yemen: Sufyan al-Amari, Assistant Secretary-General of the Yemeni People’s Party, said Thursday that recent moves led by the United States and Saudi Arabia, with British backing and Israeli enemy's participation, represent nothing more than a recycling of failed strategies aimed at pressuring Yemen to abandon its support for Gaza.

Speaking to Al-Masirah TV, al-Amari explained that the renewed alliances coincide with meetings in Doha and Aden, where high-level Zionist advisors and envoys were present. He argued that the absence of any clear stance against the Saudi-led aggression exposes the real motives of these gatherings and underlines their similarity to earlier failed attempts to undermine Yemen politically and militarily.

He added that continued British and Saudi sponsorship of such initiatives reflects a lack of political and military vision, serving mainly as cover for the ongoing US-Israeli assault on Gaza while trying to create the illusion of shifting dynamics in the region.

Al-Amari stressed that the mindset driving these efforts—whether from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or US figures like Donald Trump—ignores historical lessons, repeating failed projects without offering Saudi Arabia or its partners a viable strategic plan. Instead, he noted, reliance on local proxies and mercenaries has only deepened the suffering of Yemenis.

According to al-Amari, Yemen today stands as a decisive force in both the military and political landscape, with its resilience limiting the effectiveness of Saudi, Emirati, or Israeli maneuvers. He argued that such efforts will only bring further destruction, while Palestinian resistance groups maintain operational freedom against Israeli aggression in Gaza.

He concluded that the main objective of these moves is to pressure Sana’a into withdrawing support for Gaza and aligning with US-Israeli political projects in the region. However, he emphasized that Yemen’s firm position and popular will make it extremely difficult to impose any foreign agenda, leaving the alliance facing limited options and a lack of genuine strategic vision.

Since the escalation of the war on Gaza in late 2023, Yemen has positioned itself as a frontline supporter of Palestinian resistance, carrying out strikes against occupied ports, airports, and Zionist shipping routes. This stance has drawn repeated threats and attacks from the US, Saudi Arabia, and the Israeli enemy, yet Yemeni forces continue to assert themselves as a growing regional factor. Political analysts note that repeated attempts to isolate or weaken Yemen have largely failed, underscoring the country’s evolving role in reshaping regional power dynamics.
