In his weekly address on Thursday, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi characterized the scenes of destruction in Gaza as "horrific and tragic," asserting that they should compel anyone with a conscience to take a stand. He accused the Israeli entity of continuing its genocide in full view of the world, using American, British, and German bombs, and benefiting from Arab oil and what he termed the "significant inaction" of the Islamic world.
The leader warned that Israeli threats extend beyond Palestine to target the entire Islamic nation. He stressed that Muslim inaction in the face of the eradication of a fellow people does not absolve them of responsibility, either in this world or the hereafter.
The address detailed a series of provocative actions, including the participation of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and U.S. Senator Marco Rubio in "shared Talmudic rituals" at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. He also cited the opening of a tunnel under the mosque by the U.S. Secretary of State as a clear message of deep American-Israeli partnership.
Sayyed Abdulmalik also accused Britain of having a role "greater than other European regimes" in executing the Zionist project. He also noted an accelerated pace of Israeli raids in the West Bank, with nearly 1,000 Palestinians reportedly kidnapped in a single week.
Regarding Jordan, he stated that Netanyahu’s statements about the Jordan Valley represent a clear threat to blackmail the Jordanian people over water and gas resources. He further claimed that American pressure on Lebanon is escalating to force it to comply with Israeli dictates to disarm the resistance.
Historical Parallels and the Case for Resistance:
A significant portion of the speech was dedicated to the 1982 Sabra and Shatila massacres in Lebanon, which occurred after the Palestinian resistance was disarmed. The leader used this historical example to argue that the absence of a defensive force leaves populations vulnerable to being violated and exterminated without protection.
"The massacre of Sabra and Shatila clearly testifies that the weapon of resistance is not the problem," he stated. "The real danger lies in the weapons possessed by criminal hands like the Israeli enemy."
He concluded that the correct lesson from these events is the importance of a resistance weapon to protect people and the critical need to prevent the arming of Zionist Jews, which he defined as the true danger to the region. The speech served as a call to action, urging the Islamic world to adopt what he framed as the correct understanding of security and resistance.
The speech comes amid a prolonged and devastating genocidal war in Gaza that has resulted in significant civilian casualties. The leader's remarks frame the war as part of a broader Zionist project targeting the entire Islamic world, while also drawing historical parallels to past massacres to argue for the necessity of armed resistance.
