European Monitor Condemns Israeli Aggression on 26 September, Al-Yemen Newspapers

News - Yemen: The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor strongly condemned on Thursday the Israeli aggression targeting the offices of 26 September and Al-Yemen newspapers in the Yemeni capital Sana’a, describing the attack as a flagrant violation of international law.

According to the Monitor, the Israeli aggression on the media center in Sana’a resulted in the killing and wounding of several journalists. The organization said the attack reflects a systematic policy pursued by the Israeli enemy to silence journalistic work and obstruct the flow of information and truth.

The Monitor explained that the Israeli enemy raids struck the two newspaper offices located inside a media complex in a densely populated residential area adjacent to the Old City of Sana’a, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It further noted that the attack came amid a broader wave of intensive Israeli aggression on multiple sites in Sana’a and Al-Jawf, which left dozens of civilians dead and others wounded.

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor urged the international community to take immediate and practical steps, including activating international accountability mechanisms and imposing economic, diplomatic, and military sanctions on Israeli enemy for its systematic and grave violations of international law.

Israeli aggression have in recent days escalated against civilian and media infrastructure in Yemen, with the attack on the headquarters of 26 September and Al-Yemen newspapers in central Sana’a marking one of the deadliest assaults on journalists in the country’s history.

The strike killed and wounded dozens, including media workers, residents and passersby, and drew condemnation from Yemeni and regional organizations. Observers say the attack reflects a broader Israeli enemy strategy of targeting press institutions in both Yemen and Gaza in an effort to silence critical coverage and obscure the scale of civilian casualties.
