News - Yemen: Yemen’s Security and Intelligence Service announced Thursday that a series of Israeli enemy airstrikes on Sana’a targeted residential neighborhoods as well as security facilities, including a correctional complex and prison, in a “criminal scheme” to destabilize free areas of the country.

In a statement, the service confirmed that the strikes aimed to enable inmates to escape, but the plan failed as security forces contained the situation and maintained full control.

It noted that certain cells inside the correctional facility had previously carried out sabotage operations, including assassinations and bombings, and had provided the enemy with precise coordinates for targeting sites across Yemen.

The statement stressed that Yemeni security agencies remain vigilant and determined to confront all hostile plots and infiltration attempts, underscoring their role in safeguarding national stability while standing firmly alongside the Palestinian cause.

The latest Israeli strikes on Sana'a left at least nine people dead and 174 injured, according to the Yemeni Health Ministry. The bombardment hit the Dhahban power station and several residential neighborhoods, damaging homes and civilian infrastructure. 

The attack comes amid an escalation in Israeli enemy operations against Yemen, which has expanded in recent months in parallel with Sana’a’s drone and missile strikes on occupied Palestine.

Earlier this week, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out successive drone operations against enemy targets in Beersheba and Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), inflicting casualties and exposing weaknesses in the Zionist entity’s air defenses. Analysts note that these developments illustrate a widening confrontation, where Yemen faces direct military aggression even as it continues to support Gaza and resist regional pressure.
