News - Middle East: Thousands of Tunisians rallied in the capital Tunis on Friday in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza and to denounce the act of piracy by Israeli enemy forces against the Global Sumud Flotilla seeking to break the blockade.

Protesters waved Palestinian and Yemeni flags while carrying banners expressing full support for Yemen’s military operations against Zionist shipping in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea. They stressed that Sana’a’s actions were a legitimate step to deter the occupation and curb its ongoing aggression.

Chants such as “O Yemen, O Yemen, no warships, no vessels” echoed through the crowds, signaling a clear endorsement of Yemen’s continued targeting of Israeli-linked vessels and preventing their access to occupied Palestinian ports.

Activists described Yemen’s role in supporting Gaza’s resistance as a “real beacon of hope” in the face of Israeli aggression and international complicity. The demonstration was part of a wider wave of solidarity marches across the Arab and Islamic world, where Yemen’s position has drawn praise as a genuine reflection of the region’s commitment to resistance and rejection of normalization with the Israeli enemy.

The protests come amid heightened regional tensions after Zionist naval forces intercepted 13 boats from the 50-vessel Global Sumud Flotilla bound for Gaza. More than 200 participants, including delegations from Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Malaysia, were detained. Despite the arrests, flotilla organizers said some 30 vessels remain at sea, determined to challenge what human rights groups describe as one of the harshest blockades in the world.

Meanwhile, Yemen has emerged as a frontline actor in confronting Zionist aggression: its Naval Forces have enforced a ban on Israeli-linked shipping across the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden. Analysts say these operations not only pressure Israeli enemy militarily and economically but also symbolize regional solidarity with Gaza’s struggle.
